This is ME

It's me at 33 years. Did this LO with K&Co Amy Butler paper which i cannot get enough of, and since it's a LO about me , i incorporated my fave stuff. So from Hambly's birdcage, to K&Co's diecuts (ain't they sweeeeet!!!), and Melissa Frances Anna Griffin epoxy stickers, and ended up with a pink girly girl LO. I'm not exactly a fan of pink, but since these products i chosen are of this shade & it matches with the Amy Butler paper, why not?

100% scrap addict (that's what my hubby calls me)

And how can i not use STICKLERS (crystal), they go well with the floral cut outs

I had a great week, however tiring as i'm mostly looking after Kay after work by myself and we look forward to having our big guy again with us at the end of next week. The home just feels weird that it's now just one person lesser (that's how it is to me, cause kay doesn't even bother that daddy is not around most of the days)

Like how it is, i'm always looking forward to the weekends, and another 3 more weeks of having the scrap supplies laying around before i have to pack up and keep till our guests leave. On my scrap to do list, one more mini book to complete within this week, 1 ROM album to almost complete, X'mas cards are finally completed yesterday, but i figure i have to make more cause i miscalculated the quantity and i'm all done for the must complete projects till my next to do scrap list.

Signing off for now!!! + looking forward to MWL's personalised gift for their SFL members. Can't wait to see what the lovely surprise is all about.

Have a Happy Friday!!

{C.R.E.A.T.E}

Using K&Co's latest patterened paper by Amy Butler for me latest LO of Kay taken 2 months back. I'm one who is not keen on using boy related patterned paper or embellishment on Kay's LO and i would just go with creating with what i like in each scrap brand's release of new products. So be it floral, girly themed stuff, you would see such things used in Kay's LO. I'm just so loving Amy Butler designs & colours...here's a simple 8 1/2 x 11" LO did last night, and love how i can use sticklers on the flower center.

Jayce is back home today, so it's spending good quality family time tonight with him & Kay. And would be trying to complete my 1st mini album which i titled "Just Us", and using the latest October Afternoon "Weathervane" series which i'm so crazy about + to complete my lil brother's ROM wedding album (few more pages to go before completion). Definitely busy busy for me.

Have a good day and thanks for visiting.

We're going to have a new neighbour

Yes, Yes, Yes!!!! My lil brother is going to be our good old neighbour in Punggol. At the yet to be built "Punggol Breeze", we are going to see lots more of Yixi & Jianxi after year 2012. Still quite sometime more to go, but definitely good news cause we're just staying opposite of some distance from each other. We will all be closer. By the way, my other brother has also gotten his flat couple of months back, and it's also within Punggol area. I can't ask for anything more than having my love ones close to me. Here's what Yixi's flat going to look like when it's completed.

Punggol Breeze

Hope you are having a cheery day so far.

A regular Monday

Recovering from a fun filled weekend, and onto what i called a regular monday where life pretty much goes back to normal. Do you sometimes feel that week after week, it's just always about work? After spending the weekends with Kay, i sometimes find myself having a problem switching back to work mode and remember where i left of on Friday. I find myself pausing for awhile when my colleague asked me stuff, and i have to think for awhile. It's so unlike me before Kay came into my life. Before all these, i would have this great memory ( i know what they say about lost of memory after child birth), and i would be on top of things when it comes to work. Not that i'm slacking, but i just need time to re-collect on what i did last week. Hmmm...i don't really like this part, and am trying to work out how best to remember. Got to have my work mind back.

Great news from Wen, she re-visited MWL, and bought somemore. And i asked Jayce this morning if i should be blame for this. He said "I'm not answering you". For scrappers out there who has husbands like mine, i know what that feels like. And Wen says we would meet once a month to scrap together (more good news for me when i saw her sms).

Worked and completed on 2 LO this last weekend, and here they are.

Crop for 2

Just a post on how my crop for 2 went yesterday afternoon with my best pal - Wendy. We started at Made with Love for some scrap supplies , and what started out as a pretty normal shopping for scrap supplies, ended us being spending up to more than 2 hours at MWL, and a very full basket!! That's Wen's basket (mind you, i only held on to my purchases, and no basket was involved). And what i did not expect from this supplies shopping was that she went totally into a mode i called - "Help, i love everything", and as a scrapper, i just love watching how she shopped. That was me 1 year+ ago, when i came to know and found this shop at Plaza Singapura, and my 1st shopping trip was close to what Wendy had yesterday. Scrapbooking is definitely not a cheap hobby, and what Wen said to me yesterday made me think harder at how much of the scrap supplies do we actually need. Her statement was "you won't want to re-use the same stuff on every of your LO right?" hmmmm, it seems right, and that's why i ended up with my endless stash of stuff. We can always re-invent our old supplies, but can it be possible that we keep using similar stuff in every LO that comes our way? When we gotten to paying, you should have seen the amount. Hefty sum, and i've been there before as well.

Back to my our crop session which only started close to 3pm (can you imagine, we meet at 11.30am at MWL, and we managed to only get to my place close to 3pm to start), and that's not the exciting part. The task was to create 10 LO's (a baby album for her sis in law) all before 6pm. Arrrggggghh, how are we possibly going to do all these??? At the end of the day, she completed 8 LO's (and you can see that closer to LO no. 5 onwards, we are already physically drained out of creative juices, and Wen with a neckache above it all. Oh boy, i was just so dried up of any possible ideas to help her complete her album. I just wished we have more time. So to summarise our crop session in one word, it would be "INTENSE". I was even asking jayce when Wen left, if i possibly had any ideas left at night to continue my own LO's, and apparently not cause i was as tired as ever, and went to bed at 9plus.

I'm welcoming her anytime should she wishes to start on this new hobby of scrapbooking cause i'm not sure that admidst her limited time from her work and family commitments, will she continue? Through this scrapping time with Wen, i also discovered how different we both are, given the fact that we are best friends from school. I guess from day one when we knew each other, we are already very different, and there are times that we would like similar stuff , but generally we are opposites of each other. From our character, to our dress sense, to now even scrapping style, we are opposites. Her style is - as cluttered as possible, bright colurs, and my style is that empty spaces are alright with me, and i go for more nude, muted colours. Scrapping is free style, everyone has their likes & dislikes, so it's fine by me just as long as i enjoy my time spending with her, talking, laughing with her is all i ask for. Gotten some photos (of the scrap stuff Wen bought, but not of my scrap pal, and will post it in the days to come cause i will be without my digi cam for the next 10 days. It's been on loan to my cuz whose away in Adelaide at the moment for an exchange student program).

I had fun at my very own crop sessions, and i hope i will be able to have more of my other friends join me. It does mean time away from Kaylen cause my mom was so nice to help me look after him on a Saturday where usually is her rest day, and for me to be away from Kaylen is not very easy cause i always wanted him to be around me. At this age, scrapping is not very possible yet although the other day i tried for him to do a rub on for me, and results was not very ideal cause he was sort of rough, and was not easy keeping his fingers at the right places. So no scrapping yet for my little guy.

How have your weekend been so far?

Remember him...

I take this morning to sit back and remember my grandfather as 12 years on this day, he left us. Memories of that day are still fresh in my mind, and i did not get to say goodbye. I was school and when i got that paged that morning, i knew it had to be about my grandfather. I'm grateful that my teacher gave me a lift home, but still all too late to say my goodbye. He passed away peacefully which after all the months of battling stomach cancer, and for this illness to eat him away slowly, watching him grow thinner by the day, and till he is no longer able to get around by himself. He was in no pain when he left us.

I want to be able to tell Kaylen when he is to ask me one day "what is great grand father like?", I want to be able to tell him this :-

- he is a man of few words, but a person with a very big and good heart.
- he is always teaching us about doing right and not harm to people.
- he is a one who puts everyone before himself
- he has a great big smile who would always warm us up

I miss seeing my grand father sitting at his favourite chair at the front porch of the old house everytime when i get back from school. The times when he was able to drive us around to get our fix of snacks from the "MAMA" shop. The must have steamboat reunion dinners on Chinese New Year's Eve at home year after year. Having him in each year's family portraits of the big family on Chinese New Year's day. All these, i will remember and tell Kay what we use to do when his great grand father was still around. If he was still with us today, he would be 97 years old this year.

I'm just glad that i have memories of me & my grandfather, and i truly respect and love this person whom i'm proud to be his grand daughter.

Just getting better!!

It's how November is now for me. Loads of scrap book brands i have been awaiting for has now arrived (as in today at Made with Love), and looking through all these lovely stuff, my knees are going weak. Took lunch time to visit Trendy Thursday today, and you cannot imagine the amount of things i came back with. You can say that i'm just one happy gal for the moment. It's October Afternoon, K&Co, and Webster Page that i got my hands on, and from the amount of stuff i got, i better be scrapping at a much faster pace.

Just look at some of the pretty things from these lovely brands.

So it's off to listing out my scrap to do, and working towards giving justice to all the scrap supplies that i have got.
Jayce will be back home tonight from camp, and from today onwards, he would be home every other night. So i'm just glad no long stay in camp this time round.

It's just going to be a peaceful night with me completing my earlier LO.
