Finally.....

What my parents and us have been waiting for, Yixi's graduation at RMIT with an accounting degree, and all is now completed. What seems like forever when he started out his studies, and at each stage of his exams getting through despite him working full time, now we're all just glad that he finished, and onto another chapter of his life. I know for sure my parents are now at ease that that's out of the way, and next year we have 2 weddings to be getting through.

Here's the photos taken after the ceremony which was last Thursday, and Kay was just staring hard at why his uncle got this silly looking thing on his head....

With my mom, and Kay snacking on a cream puff so that he can keep stilll
during the photo shoot.....

Kay trying to get away from the guy with the funny hat....yes my brother
was squirming cause it's so hard to hang onto him...and not drop him

And yes now the youngest of the lot has completed. Proud parents,
and i will await my turn when it comes to Kaylen

Have a beautiful start of the week, and thanks for dropping by gals and your great comments, it always puts a smile on my face!

Thursday, August 27

It's been slow....

How do you ever do it? It amazes me that some of the scrappers out there can manage 2 to 3 LO's a week, and still be with spending enough time with the family, and have at least 1 kiddo. I'm truly amaze at the speed of how they can go about creating super lovely LO's, and it's also my wish to be able to create at such speed. At this moment, i'm actually doing just 1 LO maximum, and usually for those who know me i tend to scrap till late into the night cause it's when i actually have the time.

In my mind, it's been always ticking away at how i want to be doing the next LO or project, and it's all lined up according to the new stuff that keeps coming out week to week at our LSS. In line, i've actually the latest from Jenni Bowlin, American Craft, and by tomorrow it's Sassfrass Lass - Montrosity line (love those cutesy monsters, and just yesterday I've gotten Kay the latest Mothercare pj's with monsters on them too, so i'm waiting for the chance to be using this new line, and that's if i can get my hands on them). Seriously now, my scrap desk needs a major clean up & sorting again cause Cosmo Cricket is everywhere ....

Here's my latest with Love Earth papers & series of products like rub ons & chipboards....

Title: Sometimes

Journaling reads:-
I love your hugs & kisses
I love to watch you play alone
I love to have you hold my hand
I love to read you bedtime stories

Will be sorting out my stash tonight cause everywhere on my scrap desk is just overfilling, and with clutter, i can't scrap properly. Period! I'm off from work tomorrow, be at MWL tomorrow morning for sizzix submission, and meeting Geraldine at the store as well, and in the afternoon a thorough retail theraphy with my sis in law in town. Yes this relaxes me somehow.

Have a great weekend ahead.

This is how it looks...

of the photos taken with the Holga. It's one of a kind whereby the camera captures the lights around us, and creates a special effect on your photo. It's not the sort of photos that everyone likes, but i love how each photo turned out as we tried it indoors and outdoors (it's actually better outdoors). Here they are....

A double of me taken in my office.....this is created by not turning the film after the 1st shot, and with the camera tilted at a different angle on the 2nd shot causing such an effect...

This is silly me & yixi, and using the flash this time round, and still indoors...gosh we certainly look funny.

These were taken in end May at Botanical, and once again you see 2x of yixi in this photo....

And this of my mom & yixi....

Not your everyday photos but whole lot of fun when we see how the photos turned out cause it's after all our very 1st Holga experience. We're ready with a new role of film, and just wondering what's next to be shooting.
Have a great day, and thanks so much for dropping by. Hugs!!

What's a weekend without....

spending quality time with my lil one, and sometimes i just let him have his own playtime by himself. I enjoy just sitting from far to watch what this lil guy is up to. Making a mess would be the top of his to-do list, and for me clearing up after that. I had the chance this weekend to just take shots of him as he plays by himself.

Here's him in his doggy paw PJs on Saturday night, and if you see the mess around him has already started.....

This was Kay on Sunday morning (already turning into 1 very sweaty lil guy) playing with my iphone.....

After that, he decided to be hiding behind his pal , Mickey's bum, and goes on shouting "Help mummy, help...."
At this point, he is already heating up, and sweatier than ever...boys...
And i love weekends for the fact is that its major scrapping for me and i've finally completed my latest Cosmo Cricket LO, this time i used everything from this fave brand of mine...check it out. I love those chipboards.
Title: Howdy
Materials: everything from Cosmo Cricket - The Boyfriend & Earth Love series
And I've completed my Sizzix project for MWL.
Among them an 8x8 layout using the flowers die cut I was given, and i love how you can create dimensions by layering the different sizes of the flowers together.

Created a 5x5 wedding card as well as part of this project. Went for the clean simple look for the wedding card.

Next, more fun with Cosmo Cricket before moving on to the latest American Craft papers which i bought last week, and so tempted to try out Maya Road's T-shirt album after seeing Pooi with hers....
Have a good Monday!!

Friday, August 21

We started this.....

Both my brother & myself wanted to start selling something for the longest time, and with his interest in photography & design work, and mine in scrapbooking, we've thought of putting this 2 together, and have a brand to ourselves, and him being the creative mind, he came up with "sister yin & brother xi". The 1st we have in our blogshop would be this limited quantities of HOLGA cameras. Check them out here. I've taken some of my own photos with the Holga, and looking forward to getting these photos scrapped cause these photos taken by the Holga has a different effect, breaking away from the current norm. It does have a dated look on the photos, and i can't wait to see the photos when they ready.

Hope you enjoy our blogshop! We hope to be adding more stuff soon.

Thank Goodness for these 2...

My life is never a dull moment. Be it an angry moment, or funny moments, just listening sometimes from far at how these 2 people are interacting amuses me. Jayce is totally a very nice daddy, and many a times bullied by Kaylen. Kay knows that he gets away with everything, and gets what he wants just with whining & crying, and there at times whereby i find myself repeating to Jayce that we can't just let him get his way. It would become a habit. For the last 2 days, he was just testing us with his naughty ways trying to get away from his "crimes", and we're not letting him through this morning. No matter how much he cried or whined, we ignored him totally, not giving way, and you know he stopped after awhile cause he knows it's just too tiring to be whining and crying his head off. Yups, i won this round. Yes come to think about it, i'm the bad guy, and jayce the nice guy.

I must admit we are protective very much of Kay, and i'm trying to cut back on this cause i'm seeing the effect of over protectiveness from him(he is now so shy with people outside). I have constant worries like all mommy's, and as he grows and at each stage behaving differently, i have to let go sometimes. The same goes to jayce cause he is even more protective, and many times he doesn't let him try out new stuff for fear of it being dangerous. How long can we keep at doing this cause our baby is no longer a baby, gradually coming out to explore, and i have to find the balance in things we want as parents, or what we ask of him.

I'm leaving you with a photo of these 2 my brother in law captured last week at my in-laws. I love them to bits....

I'm slightly behind my scrapping, moving slower than usual, but will get there somehow cause i've got projects due next week. Look's like it's going to be an intense scrap weekend for me....till then, have a great weekend ahead, i'm hoping to be taking more photos over the weekend as well.

Thanks Geradine & Pooi for the blog tips, was pulling my hair out last evening over the image loading thing, and it looked okay for now but holding on to your tips for the next round.

Thursday, August 20

What's wrong....

It gives me a headache whenever i can't post any pictures at all, and shirley if you are reading this, i know how it feels. Not that i can't find the buttons for imaging loading but for the last 2 days, i kept getting a prompt that there is error on the page. Truly frustrating! Does anyone know what's going on with blogspot?

Guess this is a no picture post for me.

I enjoy today, not only is it Trendy Thursday again at MWL(love latest America Crafts & Maya Road), i get also to meet up with 2 wonderful scrappers, and just on one topic such as scrapbooking gets us all fired up, and you should see the 3 of us. Exchanging views and product talks & about ourselves , i'm glad i had the chance to meet them. I love the fact that with scrapping, i get to meet these nice ladies, and i'm sure i will be able to meet more of them soon. So Geraldine & Avina, next time round i hope to have more time to spent with your gals. I enjoyed this afternoon.

Still working on my latest LO with the new series from Cosmo Cricket (i'm doing a mix from the boyfriend & love earth series), and hope to have it completed tonight.

Hopefully tomorrow i would be able to post some photos.

Have a good Thursday you all, and thanks so much for your kind concerns, i'm doing ok, nothing major broken, just sore bruises, and joints, and i'm grateful it's just bruises. Hugs gals for the nice sms's i'm getting to. I'm doing okay.

Tuesday, August 18

Just one very sore day....

Today is definitely not my day. Had a fall (just missed out 2 stairs at my mom's cause i thought i was okay going downstairs without my spectacles) with carrying Kaylen in my arms, and thankfully other than a slight shock, he's doing okay. On the other hand, mommy me is not anywhere well. Other than the huge bruises on my butt, thighs, knees, and the sole of my feet (don't ask me cause i have no idea how i fell), i'm feeling terribly sore all over. Might have also twisted my left ankle slightly, i'm just feeling not that great.

After a busy weekend & monday with my overseas supplier, and 2 days of feasting with him, i'm hoping to get a good start this Tuesday at work. Nope, that didn't happen as well. Other than aching all over from the morning's fall, had to face literally "office fights". Not going to go on cause it just makes me feel worst inside. For the rest of today till i get home tonight, I'm just going to shut off and work. The thoughts of going back home & having my scrap stuff, it's going to make my mood much better. It's a definite.

Thank goodness that such days are not very often, and i can just imagine when i wake up tomorrow, it's going to feel as if i fell 20 storey down. Ouch!!!

I seriously need to scrap to feel better!! Cosmo Cricket here i come....

Ride of my life.....

Started off this month on my very 1st design team assisgnment at Made with Love, and i'm definitely in for a great ride. Breaking out of my comfort zone of usually having my favourite colours to work with was one thing i expected coming my way, and truly it's exciting cause for the very 1st time, i had to ponder for a while, looked through the kit I was given, and found myself pondering further. Hmmm, i'm sure i'm going to be doing this quite often from now on.

Nevertheless, i had fun scrapping for my 1st DT LO assignment, and here just a peek till my review on Monday! Just say that the colours i've got to show....like a rainbow. Makes me happy when i see this LO.

Weekend's going to be busy for me, will not be staying at home for 2 days cause of the dinners i've got to be at with the arrival of the guest over this weekend, and just for 2 nights my mom & jayce will be watching Kaylen for me, and i'll be missing out on tucking Kay to bed.

Have fun over the weekends everyone!

Thursday, August 13

Don't we just love new stuff.....

One after another, these scrap manufacturer's are getting their latest ranges out, and yes to me i love them all. One down with Cosmo Cricket's latest series - "The Boyfriend", "Love Earth" and "Jolly by Golly" arriving at MWL this week on Trendy Thursday, i guess myself and rest of the scrappers are one bunch of happy happy people. I have one gal to thank for this - Geraldine. Thanks babe!

Next on my list - jenni bowlin. and i've gotten them in a shopping cart at an online store awaiting for me to finalise, and soon will be at my door step. Can't wait....new stuff always makes me go weak in the knees...
Here's a peek at what i'm getting...

I'm always making list of the new stuff i'm waiting eargerly for, and i'm sure you all have your all time favourite scrap brands too. What's up on your list this time round?
Enjoy your Thursday!!

Wednesday, August 12

" Mummy, kiss...."

This was last night's conversation with Kaylen, and this was how it went...

Kay: "Mummy, kiss..."
Me: "Yes Kay...(got up to see what i should be kissing...it was his feet!!)
Kay: "kiss, ouc pain pain"
Me :" okay kiss" (gave a quick kiss on his toes)
Kay: "no more" (to says that after kissing, the pain has gone)
Kay: "wear socks" (he wears socks to sleep)
Me: " okay, wear socks, and go to bed now Kaylen"

Then in less than 2 seconds, here he comes again...

Kay: "ouc pain pain, take socks..."
I'm obviously slient for awhile before
Kay: "Mummy, kiss...."

Don't you just love lil ones. I'm kissing lil feet practically every other day, or elbows or fingers when he says they hurt, i know he's actually not in terrible pain, i'm still showering them with kisses to make him feel better. Lil kids, can't imagine my life without him.

Wednesday's looking great to me, how about yours?

Tuesday, August 11

I certainly need a good scrap theraphy...

I certainly welcome long weekends, not only do i have jayce & kaylen all to myself at home spending the needed family time, but also i have some time in the afternoons during Kay's nap time to work on layouts. For the past weeks, i haven't had the chance to stay up late cause i was just too tired to do anything.

Went through the long weekend creating this 2 layouts, which i dug through my older stash, and combined with my latest scrap purchase to come up with this 2 pieces.

This week till after next Monday would be a busy week for me cause we're having an overseas manufacturer over the weekend, my 1st assisgnment with MWL also starts this week for me which i'm totally excited about, and yes i've to complete them before the weekend cause i won't have time this weekend to be scrapping. I'm thrilled to be on this great team at Made with Love cause when i started out this hobby, I had my very 1st beginners class there (i was still on maternity leave when i attended the class), and i always admire the work done by their design team, and for some i simply love their styles, and till now i'm still a fan. Yes when i do meet them in person, you can just imagine how happy & excited i would be.
Definitely what's started out as a hobby has turned into a passion for me now, and i hope i create stuff that people would like, and afterall, it's all about keeping the memories for Kaylen for his future.

Have a great Tuesday you all!, and thanks for dropping by!

Thursday, August 6

In eager anticipation....

With the CHA ending at the end of July, we'll be sure to be expecting new arrivals of the series from the manufacturers, and being a fan of a handful of my favourite brands, this is what i'm eargerly awaiting to hit our local scrap stores soon....

From Hambly's which is my fave for their quirky designs on papers and overlays, and gorgeous hues of colours. Who can ever resist them.....yummmmmsss

Then comes Sassfrass Lass with 2 lovely cutesy series this round:-
Sweet Mamalade

& something so suitable for my little guy....Monstrosity. Just check out the cute lil monsters..... don't think i would hoard too much of this, but sure enough for LO's and albums for sure.

I definitely love what's coming our way from Cosmo Cricket, October Afternoon my all time favourite as well, and like me, everyone into scrapbooking are awaiting for the latest to arrive.

Till then, have a beautiful Thursday (which i think all scrapbookers here in Singapore would cause it's Trendy Thursday today at Made With Love!!!)

Tuesday, August 4

Still in the midst...

of constantly having to organise, pack and sort out my scrap area, and the scrap supplies which happens to grow by the weeks, and i found that i'm the type of scrapper that needs to see what i have, in order to plan my layouts. Unfortunately a scrap room is what i don't have at this moment, and this area has been my santury for the last 2 years, and also where i gather my friends for a crop session to actually catch up on good old days.

I've got more storage bins, baskets, buckets for different types of scrap products, and the latest hanging unit which jayce fixed up from me which he bought them from Daiso came in so much handy cause now this is where i would place my commonly used items from flowers to blings/pearls, to stickers. I might get just another 1 more such unit. I sort my scrap stuff according to its type, except for the patterened papers, they are sorted out by brands. I find such organising way makes it so much easier to look for specific types of products. What's your sort of organisation?

This is my scrap desk....

And my lovely hanging unit....

And this space of mine is constantly invaded by this little one....as much as i love this space, Kay loves it in another form of way....let's call it exploration....

yes, what's next to do???
Adore this look as he meddles with my latest Martha Stewart punch...caught!!

I'm still continuing with the packing cause i've got 3 bags of recent purchases still awaiting for me to sort out, and the odds and ends, and yes there happen to be 1 LO which i started out last night sitting on the desk awaiting to be worked on. All still in the midst....
Have a beautiful Tuesday!

Monday, August 3

This is my little guy...

At 26mths, Kaylen's a definite ball of energy. He's my constant reminder that i'm a mommy, and always i know how beat i get at the end of each day, he's going to be just the one who perks me up. I've never had 1 dull day after having him in my life.

He's saying so much more now than when he turned 2, and i'm getting some sort of conversations when we speak, and i'm enjoying every minute of this semi understandable words, and part of his baby words all mixed within.

Yes with him, I'm faced with times whereby my sayings or my to do gets ignored totally, and also i get tantrums here and there and sometimes it does wears my patience cause i simply can't tolerate unruly behaviour. I love him to bits, and for the love i have, i'm not about to turn into one of those parents who would just leave it alone when he is naugthy. He knows whenever mommy is angry, and would also look back at me when he tests the water on his naughty actions, and this would follow with a sulk almost immediately, and then cries. He knows which parent to bully which often in our case - daddy. Daddy is just simply too nice to even raise his voice, and when he does, Kay just simply ignores him. Gosh the kids nowaday are so different from our time.

He goes through phases in his life, has his 1st times for many things, and i'm enjoying all these precious moments, and each night when i tuck him to bed, and when he is semi falling asleep where i don't have to be exchanging pre-bedtime conversations with Kay, I would have this silent time whereby i think of stories to tell about him for my next scrap layout. I want to be able to have these stories about him, about things associated to him, and all these would be in my mind constantly. I never want to miss out cause all these are for him from me. I guess that's the best thing i can give to him. Great memories of his childhood, and of us, and of our family.

This is Kaylen for you, in one of his cheekiest moment taken by my brother last evening....(thanks Xi for loaning Canny (it's my brother Canon 40D DSLR camera and we named him Canny) to me to continue taking great photos of him)

Life's greatest gift - My Son, Kaylen
Have a good week ahead!

Saturday, August 1

Feels good this Saturday

Every Saturday has been great since i know it's time for me to spend with Kaylen at his usual GUG classes, and most importantly bonding time since i don't get that very much on my usual work week. And today, it's extra fun since i have my close pal J & her girl Calista coming over to my place in the afternoon for a session of scraps. They will be creating their very own scrap LO, and it's time for me to also catch up.

For me, it's time for packing and organising again, and my dear hubby had set up some sort of hanging unit for me, and until had completed it with the organisation of it all, i will post some pictures. I'm actually running out of storage space, and i very much would like to have my own scrap room someday. Till then, i'm going to still be scrapping from my dinning table (which i literally took over every inch of the table space, and Jayce has been so sweet as to not say anything more), and i'm loving the hanging unit he set up.

This is my latest work on a 12x12 LO, and titled "Make a Wish". I've still photos from his 2nd birthday in May to scrap, and this happen to be a very special one taken of him before he blew out his candles.....
