It all started....

1 year ago today, 1 e-mail, followed by 1 phone call and a very special friendship is forged till this very day. With gratefulness, appreciation, admiration & love is what i have for her, and i always count my blessings when i look back at what we share & have.

A remarkable lady, a true friend, and one who has a very special place in my heart, and i know we'll walk down this road with a story in hand to tell many many years from now, and one which I will grow old with. She's a listening ear whenever i have heaps of these issues in life & at work, an inspirational being who never stops sharing with you all her creative juices & ideas, her love & dedication to her job is unquestionable.

G, thank you so much for not only yesterday, but for this 1 year we shared together, your presence in my life which you know how much i truly appreciate you for.

Love you G, and thanks for this beautiful gift i call "friendship", and for this sweet gift - yes i'm the one with the "pig tail"....

To our many many more years!!!

Photos tell the story....

of our weekends, and photos always tell of the story in its bestest way....

*a time of celebration for Jayce

* a lil one who's more interested in the cake while daddy trying hard to have a good photo taken....

* our all time family favourite on birthdays & at X'mas

* he loves it for sure.....

* his new toy...

* exploring fun at the new playgroud at Ang Mo Kio Park

* someone had a new hair cut....Malay barber style....& ones who's barber his way through our family generations

& looking cute after it...

* finally i scrapped...with the latest Sassafrass "Indie Girl" (available at The Scrapbook Carton)...and playing with buttons as lines beneath the title like how Annie has done in her latest LO's....totally fun and inspirational...Love this photo of both our hands, and to me this photo just speaks so much for itself, and i'm holding on to as long as i can to these lil pair of hands cause they are certainly filling up my hands real quickly.
Title: Hold

Weekends are so much more fun, and light and i think Kay's starting to realised that once Monday comes, it's back to normal. He certainly hates this i know, and hating the fact that he's going back to school, and hating that I've to go back to work.

This week will get better for both him & me. Seeing him cry his heart out each day just feels sucky for me, trying to make sense on why he's behaviour changes just so suddenly, and trying to come out of reasons to why....i just keep telling myself that it's going to get better. For a start, i'm seeing G tomorrow, and surely meeting up with her will cheer me up instantly, and so much more of catching up we need to do....
Till the next post, you have a good start of the week....

Winding down....

Survived this week at work given that everything at work seems to be important & urgent this week, very little time to take breathers, and time just whizzes by just like this, not to forget emotional one week for the lil one, i really need to get some alone time to start scrapping.

Who can resist when I've got this sitting on my scrap desk....got my hands on them once they are made available at The Scrapbook Carton.... + my latest Glimmer mist in Moonlight which is totally matching this series from Sassafrass "Indie Girl". Hope to work on it tonight after Kay's gone to bed.

Some of my paper choices from this series, i just love the colour combi of this range, so soothing, and so me....

My friday evenings after work would just be my favourite and has become a weekly family thingy for us 3, a trip down to Cold Storage for the weekend grocery shopping with the guys that is, and to me walking through the aisle of the supermarket is simply a form of stress relief for me, a way to wind down.

Counting down to the great weekends, a day of birthday celebration tomorrow with Jayce, and hopefully i will get good photos of my guys...currently a 3 year old & a camera is certainly not a very good combi, so i'll be crossing my fingers if i can get even 1 proper photo of Kay.

Have a great evening!!

It means alot to me....

Thanks Annie & Pooi, your words and encouragement means alot to me, and letting me know that I'm not alone in this parenting issue, and i have to do what's needed when it boils down to handling this ever growing up lil guy in my life. It tears me apart knowing that it's going to take awhile before he settles, not wanting to think that he gets too use to the same of our everyday life, and once there is a bit of change, it's the sort of "here we go" type of days a result.

It's the same again this morning, and this time i tried not to even say goodbye, quietly after hugging him(he was watching Word World and having his breakfast), but still he turned around quick enough to catch a glimpse of me closing the door behind me....yup then hearing screams, cries....& when my dad saw me in office much after this morning, he said Kay had a super sulky face....

I'm telling myself that we'll get out of this, he'll get better with knowing where i exactly am in the day, and yes alot of talking him through & patience....& for me, getting a hold on my emotions at this point.. Yes i missed him everyday when I'm at work, seeing him at the end of everyday is still to me the best thing ever for me and something i look forward to everyday, weekends are both our santury to just soak in each other's company, and never seems to be ever enough for me.

Quick, weekend please come soon.

A week of emotions....

For me, and for him.
It's one of those weeks for me, and having being through the past 2 weeks of almost the same, I'm starting to think that it's going to be like that for the next weeks to come too, and asking when will it all go back to original point.
My weeks has been ever since my mom had that minor op been seems to throw everything out of balance and what's new is that she'll be having a 3 times a week chiropratic theraphy for her back in the morning, and it's not going to be a short term type of arrangement. So each day now, i get that additional time to spent with Kay, watching him eat breakfast, make bath for him, and i can even throw in some playtime when my mom's out getting her treatment, but once i have to leave for work, Kay's lots more harder to soothe his emotions cause he gets all teary, and this morning was the worst so far. He was literally crying his eyes out, trying to tear himself away from my mom's cluthes, just to hold on to my hand, and saying "mommy don't go". Gosh my heart just broke to pieces, and as much as i wished wished that i could be with him for the entire day. it's just not possible. He's never been like this before when i have to leave for work every morning, and we figured out that because the past weeks has so much happening with him being sick, my mom having to take her rest, and now her treatment for her back, we're going to be seeing more of this. I've tried explaining to him each day where i'll be, and what i'm doing, it's just not possible for a 3 year old to take all these into understanding, and when i call home to just talk to him yesterday, Kay actually told me "Kay sad sad, can't find mummy" before starting to hear him tear.....arrrrhggggg!!!
I'm just going to try, talk to him about this everyday, and that wishing that tomorrow would get better for both me & him, and for him to know that i'm just going to be away in the day, and be back in the evening. This for now till I have to leave for a business trip to Italy in late September. It's going to be tougher now since he's 3, he knows that mommy will be home every night, and surely he's not going to be happy. The last time i had to travel, he was only 14 months, and at that point he doesn't really care if mommy is here with him or not, so I will handle this when the time comes.
Not feeling very scrappy these few days, it's that type of feeling of wanting to scrap, got a photo in mind, but i'm missing the right paper for it....can you imagine i just can't find the right paper despite having a whole box filled with patterened paper...gosh. What am i to do with all my old supplies? And the new ranges from CHA which is about to happen soon....yikes!!! I'm already planning so far to get my hands on Sassfrass's Indie Girl series, American Craft Dear Lizzy Enchanted series when they come here, and the list gets longer I'm sure.
Have a good evening ahead....i love the cooler weather these days....

To this wonderful guy....

who's motto in life is just live simply, has a big heart, and does everything possible for his family, and making us so much that more happier that he's in our life. I'm blessed, grateful, and truly happy that he's my other half, the guy version of my best friend, the bestest ever housekeeper, Kay's go to guy when he needs to look for or fix stuff, and he's all ours.

We celebrate his birthday this weekend (even with me reminding Kay that it's daddy's birthday coming, he still thinks it's his own), and we're doing it the Lim's way, just the 3 of us out having a birthday lunch at ION, a good ol' Lana chocolate fudge cake to go with, and spending loads of quality time just being together at home (yup you have it, it's jayce, being at work all the time, he prefers to just stay at home with us). This is how he wants to spent his birthday, and so it shall be, it's his day after all.

And even though how much he doesn't like this photo of himself, I'm still going to scrap with it cause for a guy who doesn't take as much photos as he wants, i happen to like this photo taken in Feb this year. Yes a simple LO (see it's not possible for Yin Wen to not scrap with flowers or butterflies), so using my precious & hoarded supplies K&Co Amy Butler series...here's for you Jayce...

Title: Always Live Simply

Happy happy birthday dear!!! We love you!

So far...

* he's gone to the doctor again this morning cause he's coughing so much more intensive throughout the last night (doc changed his meds, and it's going to be another 1 more week of meds before he can totally recover) although his fever has subsiaded since yesterday afternoon, and his voice slowing returning back to nomal.

*I'm feeling lots settled knowing that he's slowly recovering, and hoping that tonight he will be sleeping better.

* getting through everyday in this week with minimal sleep, and trying my best to make sure i'm not next on the "i'm getting sick list"

* we'll be home tonight after staying over at my mom's for the last 2 days. The feeling of going home always makes us feel better, even for Kay cause he misses home just as much as i do, and he's been really bugging us that he doesn't like staying over at grams and he said "punggol nice, ah ma house dirty"....yikes must not ever let my mom hear this.....Kay equates the word "not nice to dirty".....

* i miss scrapbooking....i'm hoping to get my hands on the supplies tonight and most likely work on a LO(provided i still have whatever ounce of energy left in me..)

Here's the full review of my sneak peeks since the last post.....

* Wen's scrappy birthday canvas "A Lifetime" definitely for these 2 beautiful people....By far the 1st canvas i did with very minimal combination of colours....(did you see that hint of pink in my vintage button, it's the least i added cause she certainly not a pink type of gal)

* Kay's 7Gypsie's Letterbox Tray - 3, it's photos of him of this year, and did it in my very simple style....and totally my type of colour scheme

And lastly, my envelope mini which will contain 10 letters i will be writing to Kay (i titled it "My Dear Kaylen" as we go on our life journey together. Made from recycled cardboard boxes as the cover, glimmer mist in Tattered Leather and with butterfly mask (taken from the GCD butterfly chipboards), and binded with the Zutter. I take along with me in my bag now a notebook, and this will allow me to write anytime i want when i feel like telling him how i feel, or how i'm thinking on a particular day. I'm looking forward to starting , and my 1st letter would have my 1st ultrasound of him attached, cause it's the very 1st time I found out i was pregnant, how i felt knowing that he's starting to grow in my tummy, and definitely a trip down memory lane when i finish this 1st letter to him.
So each envelope when i'm done will be embellished further to somehow describe that particular letter inside.

A glimpse at some of the handmade sheer envelopes which is machine stitched, and embellished with punched out butterflies, dollies which are misted with glimmer mist in my favourite choice of colours being Sunflower, Patina, Vintage Pink & Key Lime Pie, and using some of my wooden stamps. Simply a close to my heart project.....

Thanks for dropping by with so much concern & regards for Kay and myself, i'm so thankful, and totally blessed I've got you gals.
Till my next post, have a happy day!!

Do you want a peek??

A little peek into my current scrap projects.....

* a 7gypsie's letterbox tray....i documented Kay at the age 3 for this...and see that little yellow car, i took it off his collection...and he didn't like it from the start till i told him why i had to have it.

* my letter envelopes mini album for Kay which i title " My Dear Kaylen" , letters to you....

*a peep into my canvas scrappy birthday gift for my best buddy Wen who's birthday is still weeks away, she loved it, and I'm glad i picked her colour right cause we don't share the same colour scheme (we're exactly the opposite of each other when it comes to scrappy supplies)

It's back home for me soon to spend time with Kay. Missed him! Last night was a total nightmare cause his fever went up to as high as 39.9 degree, and he's resisting his meds, and sponging, that i'm at total wits. Hope he'll be feeling much better this evening.
Have a pleasant evening!!

Monday, July 12

It breaks my heart...

* to know that this lil guy has been to the doctor twice in the last 2 weeks
* that he's now down with an inflammed voicebox, and a horrid built up of phlegm (how did this lil one even get so much phlegm), and a rollercoaster ride of fever since last night
* knowing that doctor has told us that as he had very sensitive skin since birth, he would naturally have sensitive nose & lungs as a result, and he will be prone to having allegies especially to his nose.
* knowing that his mood meter is at the highest possible level, and anything not right in his way will set off a terrible tantrum, and endless crying
* seeing him this morning, sitting right next to me in the car as we drive to Grams place, looking like a zoombie (he's up since 5.30am this morning cause of the fever) - and honestly at 5.30pm now as I blog, i feel like a zoombie myself going to bed at 2am cause i just wanted to make sure he's sleeping the best he can, waking up every 2 hours to check on him even though i spent the whole night sleeping in his room, and for me waking up to his cries this morning just because he has this horrid phlegm stuck in his throat....)
* knowing that he's not liking how he feels now, but doing his very best to try to play
* to know that he doesn't want to go to school, not very much because he's sick now, but that since 1st July he had 3 new friends (all boys) joining his class, and ever since, he didn't seem to want to go class. For someone who loves to go to school everyday, this came a little surprising to me. 2 out of the 3 boys cries very hard understanding that it's after all a new thing for them, and when i see Kay's facial expression for the last 2 days when i was personally sending him to school, he just had this sour face, and kept on saying that he doesn't want to, and also having to sob. With my mom usually being the one sending him to class everyday, she thinks because he's super clingy to me (it always seems the case like what they say "i spoil the market", and Kay just becomes this super monster when I'm with him, and he behaves like a brat, and when me or jayce is never there, he's an angel. So i'm crossing my finger that when he's well, he would take to liking school once more, and my part, I think the mood's of the other lil ones are also affecting him somehow with so many of them crying (his current school mates in class, the girls are also tearing alittle still)
It's going to be a tired next few days for me, and just spending as much time with Kay showering him with loads of hugs & kisses, and hoping that he'll be up & feeling sunny again. Scrap desk looking very neat since I had my best pal Wen over last weekend, house has been looking spik & span cause with 2 super senstive nosey guys living with me & a horrid massive HDB construction going on right opposite of me (it's 2 HDB construction site i say), we've done tons of cleaning up & wiping to do over last weekends. & I've still loads to show of my past week's projects, and that of Wen's scrappy birthday present, so hope to get some photos coming your way this week.
Have a good week ahead ya!!!

Wednesday, July 7

It's the next 4 days stay home mom for me...

All these when I'm the busiest at work with non stop piling up of paper work, and important discussions & meetings taking place, looking after this reno project we have in the showroom, I have to take urgent leave to care for Kay from tomorrow onwards (mummy dearest needs a good bed rest since her small op late last week which she isn't healing well till today, so it's a must that i take over), and this came at the busiest possible time with the amount of workload recently. I love that extra time with Kay which I'm always dying to have this much more time I can squeeze in a day, and it's rather hard to be working for home since my lappie at home is slower, contacts & most of the files are in the office, and the whole world tends to call you half the time when you're on leave.

So i'm just rushing to complete as much now before my end of my work day ends today, and before i go, here's a latest LO completed wee hours of the morning at 2am plus....it's been a stressful past few days for me at work, and i just need to let it all out in the form of misting, cutting, pasting and all about my boy helps me mentally to cope. Hubby thinks I'm nuts to be staying up to about 3plus in the morning for the past 2 days already, and yet I'm still very much awake when I'm working in the day. When I'm stressed out, i can't sleep cause even with my eyes closed, my mind is thinking non stop about work, work & more work. It's been like that for me for years and in the past worst off nights that it's practically every day for weeks, then months and this was also the time when I was pregnant had Kaylen cause it's tough business years & the market, so as much as I would like a peaceful night of sleep, it's not possible sometimes.

Title: My All Time Sweet Heart
Yup using my hoarded Basic Grey Kooshi diecuts & blooms, Lily Bee rub ons (once again old supplies)
& my latest acquisition of Glimmer Mist in Waterslide (a Summer 2010 colour)

So to the next few days of just spending time with Kay at home making meals for him, fetching him to & from school, and the weekends soon to be here, what's there to be complaining about. I'll let my next work week worry for itself, and whatever will wait till i get back to work.
Have a beautiful Wednesday!!!

Monday, July 5

Oh July!!

Welcoming a brand new month, and one month which I love too cause it's Jayce's birthday & also the birthday of my best friend - Wen!! How exciting cause these 2 people i dearly love have many similarities other then sharing the same birthday month, both LEOs, and their love for chocolate is those type that would kill me instantly and somehow they are so similar (i like i married my best friend...wahhhahaha....). So surely you'll be seeing me whip up scrappy birthday presents for sure for this wonderful pal of mine whom I've known since I'm 13 (she's say she knew i existed way before that cause we're also in the same primary school class just that being me, i never knew she was around...terrible right!!). I'm seeing her this weekend , so I'm excited cause everytime we've just endless stuff to gossip about, and best of all scrap together.

As for my dear Jayce, he's off from work on his birthday, and we're for sure celebrating with him, just the 3 of us. Nothing fancy as always, just a simple meal cause he says no fancy places please.....we're off to this favourite Japanese eating place of his at ION, and just a LANA chocolate fudge cake this year please he asked.

I'm also starting a brand new project this month, it's "writing a letter to you" project, and these precious letters i hand write (i never liked my handwriting, but for this project, it's a must cause it's something orginally from me in the form of my writing, and certainly my heartfelt words to you as you grow. This lucky guy who's receiving it.....who else, my dear son Kaylen!! I'm still working on it as in making each envelope (there's going to be 10 envelopes) from scratch out of tracing paper, and machine stitched in the corners, and adding my favourite punched out butterflies & glimmer mist paper dollies which are also stitched on.

Here's a peek at the 1st 5 envelopes of the same pattern series i created, and next would the 2nd part of the next 5 envelopes, and then working on the cover which i will recycle from cardboard box packaging, and most likely painted on the cover. Letters from mommy, one of the kind, and he's going to be able to read them when he's old enough.

And in July, I'm definitely tempted to break open my Zutter, and use it more than once I hope cause I've been so inspired by fellow scrappers like Aida (her's is always so detailed & so much layers & texture which are so beautiful put together) & Pooi (she's made even more recently, and got me wanting to open up my Zutter again) who makes these totally beautiful mini albums from patterened paper & binding them with Zutter. Gotten my Zutter about 1 year ago, and just 1 box of Zutter binding rings, but they've been sitting nicely in my cupboard for fear that if i'm going to use it, I'm surely going to be lost at how to operate it (ya got it so long ago that i practically forgot what the store lady told me when she demonstrated, and me gotten too lazy to read the instruction manual or watch the CD). So, here's my first Zutter experience...you can see the horrid binder rings which is a little out of shape....yikes...and this being my gift to a great girl pal of my KY for her to document Val's 2010 cause she's been really busy with work & such already put together albums would be so handy for busy mom's like her.....So Jeni, you're going to be receiving 3 from me soon, each one for your lil ones....so no fighting over now....

Up next, my 7Gypsies Letterblock tray which i completed over the weekend....sitting pretty now on my console.....hope to catch a good part of the sunlight tomorrow to take a photo of it....

Enjoy the start of your week you guys!!!
