Today

* i have a LO to show, using latest October's Afternoon series - "Report Card" & "Farm Fresh" papers, and love how happy this series looked, and it matches Kay's recent photos with Mickey so well. Did i say that I've fallen in love with Maya Road's range of kraft envelopes and this is my 2nd layout so far using this cutesy product.

Title: Pals

Materials used:
pp/stickers/letter stickers: October afternoon
letter stickers: scenic route
chipboard letters for "PALS": Cosmo Cricket
kraft envelope: Maya Road
Flower centre: Prima
other flower embellishment: evalicious

*he is starting to drink his milk, and managed to finish all 180ml , slowly but he managed. This is him in his latest PJ's from Australia, you should just see the mountain of clothes (from underpants to PJ's, to board shorts, to T-shirts, to socks, shoes, and 1 cement mixer toy from Bob the Builder) that my mom bought him when she was holidaying in Melbourne. And all the designs she's gotten on the clothes are just his fave, from ambulances, to rescue cars, to Thomas the train, to tools, to even cutesy excavators (see below, his gotten 2 of the same PJ's in different colour...that's my mom for you)

* He's waking up to a brand new toy - Handy Manny's tools...Gong gong gotten them for him yesterday, and he has been having his tools repair anything he can find...He actually prefers real life tools when he visits Gong Gong's tool box at the office, but i guess he loves these equally much. Thanks dad!!!

* i had the time to snap some photos of another mini wedding album i completed last weekend for a good friend of mine, KY, and i love how it turned out. A hint of purple here & there as i didn't want to overdo the purple element, but having it subtuly added. Some snippets of certain pages while keeping the photo pages private for this lovely couple. Enjoy!

I'm looking forward to a creative weekend ahead, and spending some good quality time with Kay, and a good clean up of my scrap area as it's becoming a war zone despite me not even using it much over this week.

Have a great weekend!

I'm still around.....

Just took some time off my blog cause for the past 1 week, not only am I super busy at work leaving me totally poofed out when i get home, and just wanting to spend the evening time playing with the lil one, my lil one happen to also not be feeling too well since Monday.

It's so typical whenever Kay has a little too much fun in the sun, he just gets heaty with not sufficient fluid on his day out (yes bad mummy which daddy keeps on getting at me for this), and true enough he's just not feeling that good. Nothing serious, we're guessing ulcers in the mouth which since Monday doesn't want to be having milk from his bottle, but thankfully no fever, and he's eating well, just doesn't want to have milk from bottle. Hmmm, i get cries, whines, resistance, tantrums, you name it, i've seen it!!! So we've been extra careful with brushing of his teeth, more coaxing when it comes to having his milk (resorting to having to feed him milk by the spoon from a cup), more story telling during bedtime (he seems to like more story time now at night, and it can be the same story night after night...it's either "Minnie's Rainbow" or "Mickey's missing muffins", and more of daddy & mummy goofiest faces to just make him take milk, and last night, milk time was accompanied with a good session of crayon drawing of cars, trucks, cement mixers, motorcycles, anything that has wheels, and you know how Kay drew them, all his vehicles are just random circle doodles, and i added the "WHEELS", he loves wheels, and is always so drawn to them, be it small or big, he loves them. I find him sometimes playing by himself, not just rolling his toy cars or trucks up and down, and bend down to just look at wheels alone for quite some time. That's Kay for you.

Hope to have him feeling much better next week, and to get scrappy soon!!

Have a beautiful Thursday!!

I love....

* that it's already mid week already

* that when i get home in 1/2 hrs time, i would be seeing this cute lil one....how can i ever feel tired after a day at work when i just see this face.

* that lately I've been working on mini wedding albums, and to see all the lovely happy wedding photos of my dear friends, and here's one completed album for my dear friend Yilin who's getting married this Saturday being a totally pink person, you'll see already how pink i made the cover to be. I'm keeping the rest of the inner pages private for this lovely couple. All the best & many blissful years to come my dear pal.

* that next on my scrap desk is another mini wedding album for my sweet pal, KY and with already all the pages covered with patterned paper & photos, i'm up for just filling them with loads of sweet elements for this cute couple. & the challenge to work with her favourite colour - purple. One colour which i've never used before in my 2 years+ of scrapping, but certainly i'm already liking what i see on the cover page of this mini.
* that i'll be able to work real soon on another massive wedding album & layouts for these 2 very special people in my life cause it's my brother Herng who's just completed his wedding photography just last week, and here's a snap shot of Herng & Cheryl at Botanical Gardens (thank goodness for cooler weather last week) taken my little brother - Yixi (yup he tagged along the whole day just waiting to snap these outdoor shoots. It never beats having the chance to scrap for these special people in my life, and i'm sure i'm going to enjoy this. & after this brother of mine, i'll be waiting to scrap for my youngest brother Yixi who's photoshoot is in Jan 2010. (I'm certainly having weddings of the year next year for sure!!!)

What are your "i love" for today?
Have a good Wednesday evening you all!!

Not as what we planned.....

What i've always dreaded....whenever we plan to go somewhere with Kay, we happen to not go anywhere. Thanks you all for the lovely wishes that we would be having a great time today at the Zoo, but nope we didn't get to go anywhere. Kay started last evening to be very quiet, and only wanted to be carried, and shortly after he vomitted out his dinner, looked a little pale, and broke out in cold sweat, and looked super tired. So we decided that we'll give the Zoo a miss today to just be doubly sure that he'll get the rest he needs. So next time i guess.

Anyway it's just good to see him feeling so much better last night when we got home, and this morning back to his super active self, so it's a load off my mind.

I have been sort of scrappy lately, and for Made with Love this week, I was able to work with the latest Creative Imagination's papers, and so fitted for Kaylen's 1st trip out of Singapore (no where far, just Johor). Tons of blue shades suitable for his photos by the pool...simply fun to play with...check it out...

Materials used:
pp - creative imaginations
stickers - creative imaginations
chipboard words "little" - Me & My Big Ideas
Flowers - sassafrass lass
All available at Made with Love
Been working on misting too lately, and i prefer the colours of Tattered Angel's Glimmer mist and slowly i see my collection of my mist growing....fun!!

Here's one with Glimmer mist in Tattered Leather (thanks Avina, love it) & creating with papers from Anna Griffin., and this piece is by far one which i created with the least of its embellishment, just though that the photo speaks too much to me, and i don't need for much embellishment.

Materials used:
pp: anna griffin
rub on: jenni bowlin
metal piece: tim holtz
letters: american craft, jenni bowlin
The next piece has a much more fun fun element to just go with that giggly smile Kay has on his face. I enjoyed this photo as much as i had creating this LO.

Materials used:-
pp: jenni bowlin, the bird on cloud paper (i totally forgot the brand)
rub on: cosmo cricket
stamps: technique tuesday, octoer afternoon
sliver foil & button: making memories vintage findings
bingo card: jenni bowlin
letter: american craft, scenic route

Till my next LO, have a great week ahead while i go spent the rest of today with Kay as it would be the last of the 12 days with him before i go back to work tomorrow. Missing already everything about being with Kaylen but i'm glad that i get all the time with him.

Saturday, October 17

All smiles & laughter

That's what i'm getting everyday being with him and i'm seeing myself doing this again cause having this long break which i hardly get, and to be away from work for such a long time, it's hard, but definitely i would be doing this again, maybe come Christmas or the end of the year to just take a few more days of leave to just spend time with him. If i don't spend the time now with Kay, and like what Pooi said before, our lil ones might not want to spend time with us when they grow up, so it's now or never. They simply grow up too fast...i wish sometimes that time would just slow down a little so that i can be soaking more of the baby moments. 2 more days with him and i'll be back at work, and i've anticipated the e-mails that are awaiting for me, and the pile of paper work on my desk, and overseas suppliers visiting as well when i get back. So soaking as much of the time i have now before i get back to busy life to just be with Kay.

With most of my afternoons free to my own quiet time, a good 3 hours has always allowed me to work on either pending gifts or LO's, and here's a peek at what's coming up from me for Made with Love, and this week, i had the chance to play with Creative Imaginations and they were just great for Kay's holiday photos at Pulai Spring which was taken at the beginning of this year...

Enjoy your weekends, and we'll be off to the Zoo bright & early tomorrow morning with the family, and yes it means taking loads of photos, and it'll be Kay's 2nd time there, and he would be more aware of his surrounding since he will be turning 2 1/2 next month, and i'm guessing his favourite animal is Ele (he calls any elephant he sees "ele").

Thursday, October 15

Just to say hello...

By far:-
* I'm well into my Day 8 with Kay, and enjoying and spending as much time as i have with him cause by next Tuesday, i'll be back to work
* we've spent good time at home, at the playgrounds, half a day with Grandpa for walks at MacRitchie Reservoir
* spent sometime alone during Kay's nap working on LO's, and wedding gift albums for my friends
* nursing backaches, and i seem to have sprained some part of my butt, and it's hurting one side of my thigh and getting up on my feet hurts
* my mom calling every other day to just check on how Kay's doing, and if he missed her (Kay is able to say whenever i ask him where Grandma is "Ah ma go aus-tra- liaaa", and just this morning, he told me holding to a plastic bag filled with packets of tissue that "kay go aus-tra-liaaa", and moving on to "Kay go work"

Everyday life with my lil guy is just bliss cause i get so much laughter out of him everyday, and having hugs & kisses throughout the day, and for me to not get so much time on a usual basis, this means alot.

I'll be back next week with photos to share, and later this evening, Kay's going with me to the scrapbooking store (i asked him this morning if he wants to go with me to scrapbooking store, and this is his answer "kay go playground".......hmmmm. I'm up for my next DT assisgnment this week, so catch the full review this coming Monday. If you are in the mood for scrap challenges, there is one up at the Made with Love by ever so talented Irene-Gwen, and if you're a fabric lover, got to try this out. Check it out here!!

Be back soon, and loads of love to all of you!!

Out for some October Fun

I'm officially going to be stay home mom from tomorrow onwards, and a good solid 12 days of Kaylen goodness, and i'm actually super happy about it. The last time i had to care for him was only when he was about 7 months old, and mom had only gone for 4 days and this time round, i'm so totally going to make sure that i spent good quality time with him.

I'm all ready with plans on how we'll be spending the next 12 days together( a mix from spending some time at home, to trips to the scrap store for my DT stuff & meeting G with Kay is just going to be fun, trips out to play, a trip to the zoo + occassionally popping by the office just to check on stuff etc), Kay's food menu almost all planned out for this week, fridge all stocked up with goodies for both of us, and a journal ready to record my 2 weeks with him. I've got plans for a mini album & layout for this 2 weeks spent with him, and never would i miss a chance to have this all down to just remember the times.

I'm not going to be able to blog as much for the next 2 weeks, so when i'm off having my October fun, i hope you are too!!

Around the house

I've found that lately stuff around the house are growing and in quantities i mean, and my ever growing interest in scrapbooking....

these are my collection of satin ribbons...and i'm figuring that it will still continue to grow if i happen to chance on more colours & types of ribbons. I must say that the colours are so "yin wen"....right? the next time i must post the photos on my paper bags collection which i have in so many colours & sizes....and they match the ribbons so well

If you've seen my layouts recently, you would find that lately i'm sort of into mist & paints. You can see for yourself that i know how quite a "few" bottles, and that i really must put them to good use...all from Making Memories, and i'm so tempted to get more colours....

My Tattered Angle Glimmer Mist collection which initially started with a large bottle in Antique Brass, and G gave me another 2 more colours, and with the recommendation from Pooi, and bein so in love with her misting work done on her LO, i've now the below collection with 2 bottles from Maya Mist... don't think i will stop yet cause I've Wendy (Laradee) recommending Glimmer Mist in Key Lime Pie, and Avina's latest LO with Glimmer Mist in Leather...yikes...

Kaylen's latest leggings from Mothercare and freshly washed & folded, and how can i ever resist these whimsical forest creatures......cute!!!!

And lately Mr Kay just gotten himself a hair cut...and this time round to my surprise, no tears, no screams, and totally cool with the whole hair cut process. I'm so proud of him, i guess it's just mommy being afraid that he might not be able to go through another haircut after the one he had before he turned one, and this is why i was so hesitant to getting him a haircut. Looks like it's worry for nothing, silly me. Love his new look....and you know what he said after the haircut when i asked him about it (my parents were so sweet to help me bring him for the haircut as I had a meeting to attend to, and they have the chance to bring him after the haircut to office for me to take a look at his new hair), he said" machine cut kay hair"....to him the shaver is a machine....there you have it - kids....

I'm off to be celebrating Mid's Autumn Festival tomorrow with my family with a steamboat dinner at my place, and later a nice stroll through Sengkang Park with Kay & the family with his Barney lantern.
Wishing you a super great weekend ahead!!
