For now....

I'm contented at scrapping at my pace, contented that i'm not buying as much scrap supplies like i use (in the past was more of weekly purchases, and it so seems that i'm out to buy almost all the latest series launched), contented that i've great pals who loves to scrap & don't mind having my scrap supplies from time to time, and with still my list of scrap to do's, i don't find myself fussing like the past that i've to complete them in a certain time frame.

If it's no layout in a week, it's fine. I create whenever i feel in a mood, and even when i don't scrap in the whole week, i'll still be contented just sorting out.....bought more baskets from Daiso over the weekend to get started with some organising & sorting, and have also cleared out some cupboard space for storage weeks ago...i know i'm not going to get right away to super packing mode, but at the end of the day, it's still something that needs to be done....scrap supplies organised in a more orderly manner....

I've created this LO over the weekend with latest paper from Pink Paislee Parisian Anthrology paper (love the resist patterns on the paper...and how these patterns surface when you ink or mist over them..)

What a week...

Started this week with a heavy heart hearing bad news from an old business friend of my dad from Jarkarta, he has suffered a severe stroke which by the time he was sent to Singapore in an emergency plane, it was all too late, he has already had serious brain damage, and the doctors at Gleneagles Hospital had given up hope in saving him. We've visited him yesterday, and boy was it tough seeing his wife & daugther crying their hearts out as he just laid, and he was on life support. They sent him back late yesterday afternoon back to Jarkarta, while the family comes to terms if they have to take him off the life support system. For someone whom we've only just saw months back here in my office, it seems that life is just so hard to predict what will happen next. Yesterday was as if we've got a huge lump of stuff just stuck in hearts....sadness....He is a good man, and like my dad says a thoughtful business friend....
I tried to work on some scrappy stuff to get away from all that unhappiness, and using The Scrapbook Carton's latest incoming of new arrivals from Pink Paislee's Sweetness collection & the hard to resist new Martha Stewart vintage doily lace punch....& with the lovely wedding photos of my brother & sis in law...i so HEART the new Pink Paislee papers...so me..
Title: love ya'

I wish i could scrap more, but obviously from the lack of posting for the last 1 week, you'll know that i'm either too drained when i get home to be scrapping. I've still photos awaiting for me to select for developing, more photos of Kay from the last 2 months, photos from our recent weekend of Swift & Kay at the Seletar Aerospace, photos from my Italian trip, a pending 2010 journal which I've started to compile but far from finish, and a little bit of everyday trying to complete my 1st ever Friendship Swap.

I'm just wishing hard that this week will just whizz past, i need for the weekends to be here soon cause this weekend, i'm going to be having a great Saturday spending time with my boys taking public transport...kay's all time favourite, and it's been sometime since his last public ride...so this is the time...
Thank you so much for always coming by my blog, showering it with love....it means alot to me. Hugs!!

Looking forward...

to a photo shoot with my 2 babies tomorrow - my car & my son.

It's time next week for us to say goodbye to Swift (that's how Kay calls him...yes to Kaylen my 5 year old car is like a person, and he speaks to my car almost everyday in the morning & night, greeting it & saying good night, and at times Kay would show off his toys, standing right in front of my car, and occasionally telling Swift "you a good boy", and patting him on the bonnet). I've been prepping Kay for this day (& yes to Jayce, he says it's just a car you know??) cause i know he will ask why Swift isn't going to be around anymore, and why we have to be driving Mitten's car (yup his dear o'uncle Yixi now has a nick name "Mittens" from the cartoon movie "BOLT", and he has graciously given up his 4 year old SX4 for us to drive around & making my life loads easier with the car...how sweet, right??), so before my car goes, i say "why not have some photos of Kaylen & Swift" for good ol' memory sake. It's definitely worthy for my scrap pages, and i know just how much Kaylen would miss him....(when i told him that Swift has to go...he told me he would cry, and kept really really quiet after this......hmmm).

So it's a good wash & polish tomorrow for Swift, and praying for good weather in the later afternoon for us to take some memory photos of this beautiful relationship between them....We're heading to this secluded place near where we live...near the seletar air base...loads of space....

Have a good weekend!!!

Italy's beautiful

My brother would think otherwise cause he's most likely have an overdose of Europe in the last one month for his honeymoon and now this work trip to Italy just gave him about the most he can handle.

To me, other than the horrendous amount of time I've spent on train rides from places we need to go, i think Italy still have its charm, and comparing to parts of Italy which I've been like in Rome & Milan, I'm glad this time round i've got the weekends to visit Firenze(Florence). I like how old & vintagy this place feels, how small & cosy all the lanes are, so much charm to this part of Italy. We practically sat on the open top buses for our 2 day tour around Firenze, and we're just contented just by the sights & me absorbing as much of the old style around town. The only downside of Firenze, tons & tons of tourist, and they're just everywhere.

My work brought me first to Bologna, but to me it's like like any other Italian city, not much that i would like to see...and not as pretty as Firenze....

Here's some photos of Bologna in the city areas....much more modern style of architecture, however you still get the roman style of twirls & swirls on the building designs...

& photos of Firenze where the town area has loads of old style buildings ,catherals & churches , town squares(piazzas) + those little tight lanes....

The Duomo in Firenze (catheral of Santa Maria del Fiore)....it's just packed with tons & tons of people...

Old style carousel...so much colour...love those horses...

street artists ......

that much more Gelato ice cream i can have at any time of the day...

More sights around Firenze town...& its famous square - Piazza della Signoria, heart of the histroic centre & free open-air sculpture exhibit where it holds some important statues including a copy of Michelangelo's David

Firenze's Ponte Vecchio....

My one & only Me photo....taken at Firenze Ponte Vecchio (old bridge) where this street is lined up with shops selling gold & sliver jewellery. Ponte Vecchio is the oldest surviving bridge from Firenze's medieval days, and from it you will have a great view of Arno river.

Why only 1 photo? cause i've never like taking photos in the first place, and simply just to get this photo i had to wait my turn cause everywhere around me is just streams after streams of tourist all waiting their turn....

I love how their houses & shops are painted in this lovely yellow hue...simply maybe because Firenze lies in the heart of Tuscany

& the view of Firenze from the top.....

It's a nice place to visit...and i would hope to find the time to put all these photos & others i've taken into a mini album...
8 days of Italy is as much as I can handle with all that pastas & pizzas, and of course when it comes to shopping in Italy, how i can i miss that chance...came back with a Gucci & a Miu Miu, & one big smile on my face of course ...
Glad to be back, and i can see that October for me will certainly fly past cause I've got my cousin coming in from Perth this weekend, and 2 sets of overseas supplier visiting at the 3rd & 4th week of Oct, good ol buddies to be meeting up, a scrap session with Wen & another with G....and i hope to also find the energy to be scrappy (still not totally out of the jet lag thingy cause it's day 2 with a heavy heavy head), or at least dust & sort my scrap desk to start working on my very 1st Friendship Swap. October's totally going to be moving fast, and at least I've got my well deserved break to start charging forward....
Till then, have a super great Thursday...

Wednesday, October 6

Thank you....

Makes my 1st day back at work so much better....seeing this......thanks Sassafrass :)

I'm missing so much being away from everything back home & at work, that even how heavy my head can be feeling right now from the jet lag, or i'm not thinking as fast today as a result, i don't really care cause just as long as I'm back home, i'm one happy happy person.

Be back soon with some photos of Firenze (Florence), a gorgeous gorgeous place to be at....
