Loving May....

For the fact that it's the month of celebration with Kay's 3rd birthday, it's also a month where i met up with my pals after a long time, and i can't believe it's already the last day today.

All i know that ever since May came, I was & still am creating loads of birthday LO's for Kay, and I'm still not done yet.

It's been a good month for us all, and it's ending definitely with sweet memories for me.

What's next in June?....We're heading to Festive Hotel at Resort World for a night's stay...and this is where we're booked in.....their deluxe family king room with a kid's loft...& an experience at Universal Studio for Kay, and some time for both me & Jayce to be spending with him.

It's part of my June holiday fun stuff plan for Kaylen since he's going to be home for the whole month of June, got to get some fun stuff planned for him.
Enjoy a great week ahead...

I did one birthday LO each year, so here's the 3rd one....got to love this photo cause it's taken when we're in the street in Guanghan, Szechuan where my brother has his lovely 3 storey + an open garden top home. It's a lovely residence.

3 years ago today....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAYLEN

He came into my life, and brought me nothing but happiness, laughter, gratefulness, and a life lesson of being a mom. Moments of his birth are still fresh in my mind like it was just yesterday, and looking at him now - 3, makes me proud of how he has grown, and the person he is growing up to be.
Happy Birthday Sweetheart, wishing you a life full of your own stories & adventures to come.

Love you!
More photos from his birthday picnic at the Botantical Gardens over the weekend....we're blessed with such a good weather, and a super fun time....thanks Xi for taking such lovely photos which will certainly go into Kay's 3rd birthday mini album to come....

Have a Happy Tuesday!!!

A Big Thankyou

With Kay's birthday being only days away, he is already receiving birthday wishes from you dear blog pals and presents from my dear friends. He's received gifts ever since last week from Aunt J who's made him a "Kaylen" room sign & a Pooh storybook, Lego from Aunt KY yesterday which got him started & playing away immediately when he reached home (Lego also took over today his earlier toy of the day which was Grandpa's fleet of trucks which was also his birthday present), and today from Aunt G a one of the kind LO & her mystery gift which he will unwrapped tonight for sure.

Check out G's lovely LO for Kay's 3rd birthday....

A big thank you to you all for all those lovely birthday wishes, handmade gifts which are priceless to me, and bunch of toys, i believe from now till his birthday he would be the happiest receiving bundles of wrapped up pressies (tonight i'm going home with yet another wrapped up surprise, and we'll see if G's gift will take over as the toy of the day yet again like always....)

And like G's LO for Kay, he's indeed very very happy!!!

One more day to go before the great weekends, and yes i'm still praying hard for a superb good weather for Sunday...

All things sweet, pretty & clear...

Using paper from Basic Grey's latest wedding collection "Capella", a mix of cut out blooms from American Craft "Dear Lizzy", a beautiful handmade felt bloom i used on the cover from J (she's such a sweetie, she made me a whole bunch of them), loads of Prima flowers on each page with chipboard diecuts from Crate Paper, and my latest & 1st stamp collection from Crafty Secret (was the last one left hanging on the rack, and i had to get it, they're so vintagy & swweeet!!!). Not to mention Hambly's overlay & rub ons littered throughout this clear 8"x8' acrylic album from Pageframe. Love the use of my latest acquired Fiskar's Upper Crest border punch for this album too.

Here is just snippets of their album. Yes just a glimpse and certainly hope my brother & sis in law would like it.

I'm all nuts about acrylic album at this moment cause i've got a bunch of Pageframe acrylic albums in different shapes & sizes, and their at half price at Made with Love. With 1 acrylic album down, I've still 2 more to go (1 of which is for my dear lil guy....+ 1 12"x12" canvas to work on for my class in June with The Scrapbook Carton. More on that to come.
Have a happy Tuesday everyone!!!

I say....

"don't you think they look so much like each other?". The very moment i saw her (we all don't know her name), i told Jayce that she looks so much like Kay (with long hair i said). Do you know what Jayce said back? This will be Kay's girlfriend when he grows up. Gosh isn't it a bit too early Jayce??? She's totally a doll, and super sweet, and both of them were in their own element as everyone of us were just snapping photos away of them both (but you can see Kay looking super sleepy cause it's already way past his afternoon nap).

So you can imagine the rest of this day, Jayce just kept going on and on about how Kay will meet her years away from now, that he will one day marry a Szechuan girl (yes it's her at this moment), and we'll all be back in Szechuan for another wedding....jayce was totally in love with his "future lil daughter in law".....for me, i just marvel at how much both of them looked so much alike...so if i ever have a lil girl, would she look like this???

I love these photos, and i'm waiting to get the chance to scrap them.
There is just so much more to do this week cause my lil guy's birthday is in a weeks time, and yes planning is on its way. As much as we can be planning for it, I'm just hoping that we're just going to get a good fine weather this Sunday, and he will be recovered in time (Kay's once again down with flu & slight warmness over the weekend and cough is developing this morning) cause we're taking the birthday party outdoors this year. Kay's going to be given a birthday picnic this year at the Botantical Gardens. Nothing beats giving him as much outdoor space as possible to run, play ball and a go at the 1st outdoor cycle with his Radio Flyer classic red double deck tricyle (Kay calls it his "birthday bicyle" which me & Jayce got him for this year's birthday pressie. Picnic menu planned by my dear brother who's up against creating his very own "Nandos flamed grilled chicken", a good ol mash potato, and vegetables. As for his birthday cake, it's going to be our all time favourite of Lana's chocolate fudge cake.

So i say from now till this weekend, it's setting time aside to getting his cake ordered tomorrow cause Lana's been pratically closed for the 1st 2 weeks of May. A good bunch of helium filled balloons, a list of things to be bring and we're all set to go and have some picnic fun. For someone who doesn't like one bit of birthday parties (yes unfortunately he hates having loads of people around, singing birthday songs to him or just looking at him. at his 2nd birthday party, he ducked down when everyone started singing "Happy Birthday Song". So you would most likely guessed it that i got a big huge "NO" when i asked if he would like to have a birthday party), having a picnic would be the best cause he won't think it's going to be a birthday party except as to why he would be treated with a bunch of balloons in the great outdoors).

Leaving you with a LO done over the weekends....finally I'm scrapping Kay's 1st day at school photos, and on my way a 99% completed a 8"x8" acrylic album for one of my brother's LO which i hope to post photos of it tomorrow, and then it's on to another wedding acrylic album for my other brother, and another mini acrylic album for Kay remembering his 1st day at school....yes there is loads more to be doing in my world of scrapping.

Went shopping with her.....

my fabulous pal of all time, my long time best friend from school Wendy, and as always shopping companions. With both of us working, and having schedules of our own, we can never meet as often as we like, and whenever we meet, it's just endless conversations about everything, and we can never get away without doing retail theraphy and damage to our wallets. Ok at least last Friday, it was me with the damages done to my wallet, and what i thought would be to just go get the LV Monogram Idylle key pouch, but i ended with this beauty, the Monogram Idylle Speedy 30 as well......Nice...

I always wish for more time with all my pals, and even as we are always so busy with the everyday life, and work, and the endless list of things to do, i will always make time. Even if it's meeting up for just lunch, or a couple of hours, it's always so good for the soul, and being around friends i love is definitely making me happy!
This week's another week for friends, as I will be meeting J for lunch this Thursday, & G on Friday for lunch & some scrap shopping at our usual LSS.
I love this week!

Bedtime Conversation

I always look forward each day to bedtime with Kaylen cause it's actually the time of the day where i spend a good amount of time with him before bedtime reading his bedtime story while he has his milk, and following that his brush teeth routine where he shows me how strong he is by squeezing the life out of his toothpaste, and after calls out to daddy to go into his room as well cause for the past month, he wants daddy to be with him as well for bedtime. Jayce would also be tired out at the end of the day and would always doze off the minute he lays down. And that's when conversations with him about his day or what's happened at school would start, and last night's bedtime conversation went like this:-

Kay: "what you doing mummy?" (he sees Jayce giving me a shoulder massage cause of my sprained shoulder)
Me: "My shoulder hurts Kaylen, because i carried too many bags."
Kay: "too many bags???"
Me: "it's very painful so daddy is helping me massage it"
Kay went into a bout of silence before going on to say

Kay: "mummy, carry 1 bag ok?"

I really felt like laughing out laugh, and i could even hear Jayce chuckled when he heard Kay that...
Me: "Yes Kaylen, i will carry just 1 bag"

Oh kids, i just love hearing what they say cause they always say the darnest stuff.

Our bedtime conversations never fail to always end with him saying to Jayce whenever daddy falls asleep, and snores (jayce never fails to snore) - "daddy don't snore"...hehe (Kay would also add his little laugther to the back of this statement.....then he would always tell jayce after this "daddy go bath"...(meaning he wants to have his peaceful bedtime). I'll always be laughing out loud at this.....

On to Kay 's LO's, sharing with you one using Glimmer mist - Sunflower, and a template of a cut out butterfly i used from recycled scrapbooking cardboard packaging. Got the chance to create the fabric flower that recently Pooi had made for her mini album, and shared on how this cute lil thing is made (fabric flower tutorial can be found HERE). Thanks Pooi for sharing cause I was just trying to figure out how it's been made.

Title: Sunday
(one of my most look forward day of the week where i spent the whole day
with him)

Materials:
Patterened Paper: October Afternoon "The Thrift Shop", Basic Grey "Basics"
Fabric Paper (fabric flower) - Amercian Craft (The Scrapbook Carton)
Stickers: October Afternoon

Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist - Sunflower
It's weekend soon, I'm looking forward to spending a good half day with my best pal - Wen tomorrow for lunch, and a good time shopping (visiting LV again hoping to get myself that Monogram Idylle key pouch i'm eyeing at....hehe), but most importantly it's all that chatting & catching up which I've missed so much. Can't wait!!!
Have a beautiful weekend ahead!!

Colours

I've been back for a week now since being in Szechuan, and given the fact that Szechuan is almost dull in its everyday weather (was warned by my sis in law that the place she comes from is always grey, dull & cold, except for occaional sunny days), I've seen the colours i wanted of the places we visited. We're in Deyang (that's why my sis in law is from) most of the time, 1 day in Guanghan for a visit to "San Xin Dui" - a relic museum , 3 days 2 nights at Jiu Zai Gou (although it's the coldest place, and a pity that due to the cold weather, the waterfalls at Huang Long had already frozen up so we did not get a chance to visit before leaving this beautiful place), and some shopping in Chengdu.

It's photo intensive, so i'll let them show you the colours of our trip and courtesy of my brother-in-law who takes such superb photos, so they're definitely going into my travel album for sure (i had 40+ photos chosen for Kay's travel album, and it's increasing as we speak cause these are those taken only by my bro-in-law)....

Family photos.....of my brothers, sis-in-law Cheryl, my mom, my aunt & Uncle....

My grams who's already 82 years old, and she's conquered Jiu Zai Gou with such good stamina (you'll see why later...)

Kay struggling constantly when we take photos to do his "say cheese" fingers....

The newly weds......all in 1 photo...at the entrance of Jiu Zai Gou....

My good ol' folks...

The view from the plane over Jiu Zai Gou....

The folk homes at Jiu Zai Gou...and see those wonderful colours of flags at their homes & on moutains. They are sort of like prayer flags which gives safety & security to all home dwellers, and there are also such prayer flags all over certain mountains which means that it's a holy mountain to those who lives there....

This nice folk lady was all songs, dances.....and she's sort of "abducted" Kaylen after the visit to their home....she practically carried Kaylen all the way to our tour bus.....& not forgetting she gave him a dozen smooches before returning him back to us.....

I'm actually already half dead from climbing up this road (& with the high altitude, I was also not breathing properly.....)my grams was way far far away from me (front of the crowd actually), and there I was panting, Kaylen was looked after by my Uncle who's also ahead of the crowd, and Jayce had to give me a hand....this is how unhealthy i am....

One of those arty poses by my bro....

And traveling with Kaylen, we're never too far behind....see what i mean. Those lil legs can really bring him very far, if not it's me being very slow with my actions.... hahaha...

The better of the sights at Jiu Zai Gou, & taken by a professional....see all that colours...it's literally out from a Chinese painting....

The photo below of Jayce & Kay is taken at one of the Szechuan Earthquake site which happened on 12th May 2008 in the afternoon at 14.28pm (magnitude of 8.0)....it's a horrid & sad sight for us....we're literally standing in the site where life use to be....and now all rubbles, and sights of flowers left in the memory of the dead. Kaylen was super quiet during this whole time when we're there, it's like he knows of this sadness. I had to find words to describe to him what's happen there cause he's not really going to understand what earth quakes are, but only seeing what's it's done.

On to a happier photo of daddy & son at this grand restaurant where the table setting in a room of its own which could sit 20 persons and it's got a lovely seating area around it, and the food served....exotic i tell you....crocodile, rabbits, pig's bone marrow....i had nothing of those......

How can we ever not go visit the Pandas!!! Kay's 'first encounter of Panda type is Kung Fu Panda Poo, so it's surely a sight to him seeing the real ones at the Panda Research Centre in Szechuan....and now he tells me this morning when i asked if he would like to visit China again & see the Pandas..."Panda eats Bamboo"......so i guess it's a YES???

This is the Red Panda....

Kay trying avidly to take photos with Jayce's camera phone at the Panda place.....a photographer in the making?

My brother & Sis in Law (this is the grand restaurant I was mentioning about)....it's our first time travelling together and certainly an enjoyable them with them...thanks so much for the photos YL!!

I was most likely watching Kaylen & Jayce from afar like always cause I've run out of energy just by going around with him.....& the weather is finally warming up to about 22 degrees on this day.....we're at the Relic Museum in Guanghan (another state not too far away from Deyang)

Kay with Yeh Yeh (Sis in Law's dad.....)

Kay sitting on a bicycle of an auntie who's peddling around the estate selling beancurd...and can you believe you can choose to have your soft beancurd with MALA powder added if you like that "kick". All Kaylen wanted was that bicycle, and he cried practically for a good 15 minutes after that.....

My dear brother & sis in law at the park surrounding the San Xin Dui Relic Museum....

Not forgetting the fireworks after Yixi's wedding dinner which was just by the river, that sight, sound & experience....

Both my brother's looking suave with their suits, and all looking up...they are actually standing right where the fireworks are set up....They had a chance to light them up, of course with the experts advice.....

There you have it, just snippets of our holiday in Szechuan.
Have a great day!!
