To my very special friend.....G

Nothing makes me happier than knowing someone close to me is finally getting married.....& her wish when I knew her 2 years ago was to get married by 30 years old....now 2 years into this....although past 30 slighty.....she is getting married & totally madly in love with her other half!!!

To celebrate this beautiful union....i scrapped my brains out cause i don't have alot of time to work on it with Kay being sick on & off, me getting so bogged down with work and that it drains out all my energy and creative juices and just this past weekend, had a bad throat, sniffles....but still i managed to finish it just yesterday afternoon.

Won't reveal yet the whole album till after her wedding, and me returning from my overseas trip (boo hoo that's another story for September). So G, hope you and Mark will love this album filled with so much love for the both of you. Done with my most favourite colours - turquoise, my favourite elements - dollies (die cut ones, Maya Rd latest kraft dollies, dollies from Pink Paislee's previous ink resist papers....and butterflies, Prima blooms and blings to doll up this massive thick album when I was finished with it).

Title: Always

(since I saw her used acrylic pages for her wedding guest book, though i would just use acrylic album as well)

The Cover

Sneak of some pages.....what a darling couple.....

You deserve all the happiness G, and although i can't be there on your very special day, please know that i'm somewhere far wishing you and Mark all the best in your upcoming marriage.....Hugs!!

What's up.....

When will I ever say I'm not busy with this or that.....and it's not possible for me to feel the least tired at the end of each day. I'm feeling more drained then ever for the last few months, and hardly have the time to think what I would like to work on for my scrappy side of life. My very precious time after work, and my every weekends, I would dedicate it to spending it with my dear lil one. I can never get enough of him, and i really miss taking more photos of him with each month passing, and so far my Iphone has been doing that job cause just can't seem to find that energy to take out the DSLR to start snapping......

My scrap desk is highly neglected, messy and most likely collecting dust as well, so hoping this weekend I'll get some time to just sort, and complete and start some projects I have on hand.....

This was scrapped at the beginning of this month, a very simple LO.....

Title: Grow

Kaylen looks so grown up in this photo, sometimes when i just look at him,

i just can't believe it that 4 years has just gone by so quickly. Conversations are never like

before, so much more interesting and funny. I love this age of 4.

And having the chance last weekend to start off Kaylen's Teacher's day pressie.....really got to have it completed within this weekend to move on to my next highly exciting project......

I'm looking forward to the public holidays that are coming up, this can only mean more time with my boys.......what more can i ask for?

I'm hoping that i will be able to have more scrapping time to just sit and scrap to my hearts desire.....soon i hope...

Just when I thought.....

he is on his way to recovery, the horrid fever is back last night. It's my worst nightmare to see him having to go through it again, just when he is starting to feel better (coughing is already at its most minimal, and medication has also gradually come to a stop). It pains me to see him like this, but comforted to see his smile break through each time. My little warrior fighthing through this, and we're praying that this round, it's not going to get nasty like the previous episode which was only 3 weeks ago, and that he recovers in time for his school's National Day celebration which we know he is so looking forward to. He sings to National Day's song ever since he returned back to school, and from talking to his teacher this morning while collecting his homework, he was very into the singing the songs in class, and even swaying to the beat. So please get well in time my lil one......

It seems that I have more "sickie" photos of him in my iphone more than happier ones......and these past few months I really don't have the energy to take out the DSLR to record his moments....So iphone photos are the quickest....

Here's Kay last night with the cooling pad again...........

Photos of this morning.....no school, slight fever of 37.7 degree......and still in a mood of funny faces.......

& the need to look cool while having his milk......he says he needs his sunnies cause the morning sun is hurting his eyes.....wahahaha....

It's surely going to be a stay home weekend for both of us....lots of bonding time, resting as much as he can.....preparing some stay home creative fun....

Till then, have yourself a great weekend ahead!!

All in a week.......

Can't believe that this week just passes me by......it's more of a recovering week for us since Kay was very sick for whole of last week. This time him falling ill took a much longer time for him to recover. His usual energy level is still not returned, he is tired easily, slightly quieter at times.............

He's been away from school now for 2 weeks, and he spent most of his time indoors and at grams place, playing with his usual toys, scaring Poncho, my brother's bull dog with whatever things he can get his hands on (i think Poncho must have hated the fact that Kay's home all the time now rather then his usual half days when he's at school). So when we get home, I try to come up with arty stuff to do since he has already played enough the whole entire day.

Paper plates were the main art material.......we started with making lions after I saw a blog post by one of my favourite - Stephanie Howell, but ended having our lions looked like anything but lions.....wahahaha.....main thing here, we just had messy fun painting, pasting, snipping, cutting......see that enthusiam!!!

Then few nights back before bedtime, Kay & Jayce made fishes out of the paper plates........so maybe this weekend, I'll experiment on paper plate BUNNIES!!! (that calls for me to go get more rolley eyes, pom poms....other materials i can use as whiskers.....)

This week also sees Kay getting a needed haircut......this time it's so much shorter cause with this super hot weather, he will feel better with a much shorter cut.....& it pains to see him visibly thinner.....oh heck, just as long as he is well....this is what matters most.

And finally finishing the LO i started out early this week......love love the dark chocolate cardstock with Studio Calico's mist - Mister Huey's calico white, and it so happens the acrylic paint i used on the cardboard to matt the photo was left over from Kay's session of painting his paper plate lion's face.

I'm always looking forward to my weekends with Kay, it's back to the usual of just the 2 of us.....the way i love it......

Enjoy your weekends doing stuff with people you love!

It's all in a smile....

He never fails to reassure me with his smile. His smile for the past days has meant so much to me despite knowing that he doesn't feel well, torturing pain in his throat, and gradually spreading to his left ear, and today his right ear, can't sleep properly, and totally not much energy with all that medication.....

Kay's been sick almost every few months once, and this was since he was little. I can never be prepared, and this time I can say it's the worst episode ever.....he always has viral infection of some sort, but this time round it totally wreaked him with the highest fever record of 40.1 degrees, and a constant on high fever for 2 nights, slightly red blood shot eyes, and to the extend of him losing his voice on the 2nd day, a badly inflammed throat, and leading to pain in his ears.....Had the most cocktail mix of medication this time round with his 1st ever anti-biotics ear drops for the pain......but with all these, he is still smiling for me.....

Yes he fusses more then ever, but it's understandable. As a mommy, like any others, I wish i was the one having to go through what he's been through the past 3 days.....I'm thankful that this morning he took a good turn ....he is only short of this afternoon taking a blood test if he's high fever still persists.....

His smiles ever since this Monday....Day 1 at night.....

Day 2 night time.....

This morning a much much wider smile.....although a much swollen eyes from all that crying as he didn't want to take any medication....especially fearful of the ear drops....

I know today it's so much better for him, and for me and Jayce, knowing that he is on his road to recovery although still not much speaking......I take comfort knowing that he is able to take his milk without spoon feeding, able to play a little more and longer. This is all that matters to me.

Scrapbooking keeps me awake these few nights, and not to mention Jayce who did the night duty with me too...and I'm really thankful for him cause he is already very tired from working. I miss scrapbooking, and dust is already collecting on my desk, and the mess from the last layout i did was still awaiting for me to clear. Packed a little, touched a little, and came out with this latest LO......Kay's instax mini photos.....a pleasure to scrap them...

Title: His Instax Moments

Thanks to all my friends and their warm wishes, and had been my constant companion when Kay was really sick, it means so much to all that care and concern.....HUGS!!!

Till then, I'm taking the balance of this week slow to recover of 3 whole days of not sleeping much, rushing all over the place......

Let the RAK owner be.....

LYDIA......congratulations to you and send me your mailing address to : tanyinwen@gmail.com so that I can send this RAK on its way to you real soon.....

As much as i would love to be scrapping every other day like before, it matters most to the state I'm in before i scrap. These days have been "too tired", "too lack of scrap mojo" to start anything on my list of scrap projects despite having loads of photos waiting for me. My work zaps the energy out of me so much that I rarely have any left by the time Kay is in bed....is this also because I'm older now.....arrrggghhhhh. Hopefully this state I'm in now won't stay too long. I really miss scrapbooking.

Before I go, this is what I've pieced together since last week, just that haven't much time to show it....

Title: Bubbles

Using Sassfrass Foldies....I love how easy they are to use

Be back soon....& have a great week ahead!!

Monday, July 4

Hello July

It's been the fastest time ever for me to just have June fly past me just like this and barely recovering from the June month, we're now thrown right into July. I can just see myself getting busier at work, and having to constantly remind myself that I have a 4 year old which is fiercely growing up right infront of my eyes that i don't wish to miss anything about him.

4 year olds have a new story to tell, definitely in my case. I have seen so much changes in just the last couple of months prior to Kay turning 4 in May, and now I find this parenthood thingy needs alot of patience from our side then before, trying to get to know this lil guy, and I guess it's not easy on his part too, trying to fit in. We get thrown all sort of unexpected attitude which comes our way, and only to find that sometimes we have the slightess clue what Kay is actually thinking and reasons being why he would behave in a certain way. I ask that i would be a better mom than i am now, and the strength to get through his tantrums, and odd behaviour, and how I find myself repeating every single day and asking when he will ever understand. Looks like it's not going to be happening anytime soon, and I can only give my best at this mommyhood journey of mine.

Moving on to the scrappy side of me, the last 2 weeks of June has zapped the energy out of me literally, and other then the almost completed Getaway Album at Sentosa, I'm no where near my list of scrappy to-do projects, and stacks of photos awaiting for me to scrap them. It's been like 2 months since i last scrap a LO, and how I miss it....so here's a sneek at what's almost completed on my desk......

Love how Sassfrass foldies are so easy & simple to use,

and the depth that it creates....

& I have this RAK to give away......wished I had the time to create more RAK out of my ever growing rate of scrap supplies.....drop a comment, and I'll make a pick by end of this week....

I'm determined to have a great week ahead.....and hopefully same to you out there..
