Hello 2011

I can't believe it that I spent the 1st day of 2011 falling sick (all shivering and coming down with fever, a nasty sore throat since we had a BBQ on New Year's Eve, and having to trouble my dear hubs to go to the store at 2 in the morning to get me panadol). So no counting down, no fun plans on New Year's Day, and to my dear hubby it's no going out till i get well....drats!!). But this is good enough for me cause i have Jayce and Kaylen with me on New Year's Day, so what more can i ask for.

So what's in store for us this New Year other than planning to ensure that i've plenty of time with this little one as he grows so much each day. So much that it scares me sometimes when i just look at him. Conversations are no longer like before, distractions don't seem to work so well now, i have to think lots more when we talk, he literally mimics each and everyone of us, he says NO almost 95% of the time and i seem to be pulling more junks of my hair as i forecasted for this year than last. So this growing up thingy does give me a headache at times, and i know i need to have loads of patience and sensitivity when it comes to dealing with his emotions. No doubt that admidst all these frustrations i get with him and myself, i've never been happier being a mom and i truly feels that he's made me a better person especially when it comes to patience.

See this face....how can i ever resist not planting a million kisses on those cheeks....i'm so glad he's mine..

I'm sure this new year will bring us new challenges in life, and at work, but no matter how i'm just glad and looking forward to telling more of our stories as we go along the months. He's going to start his Mandarin Speech & Drama this weekend....so that's going to be a whole lot of story when Saturday comes cause he's telling me last night that he doesn't want CHINESE!!! We'll see.

I'm planning to celebrate Valentine's Day this year (haven't done this ever since we became a unit of 3, ok let's just say that even when it's only 2 of us, we've never gone anywhere or celebrated Valentine's Day), so this year, i thought we'll do something for a change for this day & definitely a mini for my dear lil guy for sure which I'm going to be using Making Memories latest range - Je t'Adore. Got to love this range, it's so me!!

He's going to be 4 in May (it's like didn't we just have a party by the park not too long ago???) so that's going to be some fun in planning this 4th Birthday Bash of his.

So here we come 2011.....we're going to love every bit of this year!

Have a good year everyone!!

Finishing up.....

In another 2 more days before we say goodbye to 2010, and I'm trying to finish up as much as i can here in the office & back at home when it comes to scrap projects, I do my best since free time is not exactly what i have lately since Kay has been down with up & down fever pattern, vomitting, and totally not in any good mood. We call this the post party syndrome since it's all the late nights & party food....Gosh it hurts to see him like this, and I'm praying hard that he will get better all before New Year's Eve (we're having another party but this time this lil guy is grounded to early bed time for sure by grams!!!, which means no counting down for me & jayce this year)

So here's what I've been finishing up since.....

Remember my 2010 journal, I'm almost done, just filling in the journalling part, I'm done recording all the eventful memories for our family to look back on....it's been quite a year for us, and definitely one which i'll love to remember. I've been keeping all the tickets to places we visited throughout of this year, so made some envelopes & pockets to be storing these memorabilia...some sneaks of some of the earlier month pages.....

I manage to save another piece of both my & kay's handprint from the same drawing block down with Crayola washable paint(you got to love this product!!!), and put this in our November month.

& for December which behind the Merry Christmas tag, i made it into a pocket for me to place my Christmas wish for our family for the new year.

& working my way to half the lot of pieces from my next upcoming Friendship Swap......it's got to be the longest time i needed to complete.....i really hope i will get to finish them by the end of this month given whatever energy i have left since I've not slept much for the past 2 nights, so i'm hoping that Kay would be much better asleep tonight for me to sneak some time awake to complete them.....but here's a glimpse of my swap pieces....

& as the year comes to the end, this got to be my last LO of the year, and i choose to work on photo of Kay & my dearest car - Swift since taking them in Oct, but truly not having time to work on them till now.....It's been a month since Swift's left us, and till today Kay still asks for him, and there are times that it's hard for me to explain why he's not ever going to be coming back (cause he still thinks our lil car is on holiday in India wahahahah....and that he's really going to be back), so it breaks my heart to tell him what it means to sell the car away....& he gets teary and very upset, and INSIST that he wants the car back with us......So this got to get into Kay's 2010 album of layouts for sure....

Title: Pals
(i love those 7Gypsie's metal embellishment)
Journaling reads:-
Both of you share such a wonderful relationship
How much i see you adore him
& how much i know you miss him when he's gone
You'll always remember Swift Swift,
& have happy memories to remember him by

I foresee myself not being able to work on my Christmas mini yet till day after tomorrow, not being able to spring clean my scrap desk till Kay feels better, and i know if i'm going to list my list of half finished scrap projects, it's going to be endless....what's important is that nothing major is going to happen if it doesn't get completed, my stories of our lives still gets captured in my very own special way.....
Thank you so much for always coming by my blog, i truly appreciate & love your presence here. This year has been good to me & my family, and for the brand new year, i know we'll have our own little stories for me to record & tell, so till then....have a Happy New Year ahead!!!!
Love ya!!

All in Christmas....

What a Christmas we had this year!! It's the most busiest time for us all here, and all for just that 1 night of feasting, giving & spending loads of time merry making. It's also once a year on Christmas Eve that Kay has his bedtime extended, and this year he made it to bed past 12.30am......

Here's all that festive things we always get ourselves into...and you should just see the family after that....all tired out like zombies....eating X'mas meals continuously on Christmas Day, & Boxing Day....and i'm not surprised if tonight's dinner is yet another X'mas meal at grams place......

All for the sake of just hanging out more then usual with the people we love......

On Christmas Eve....
*Kay posing with Uncle Yixi's roasted"BEER BUTT" chicken.....which are all looking & smelling yummy....

* Kay getting ready for a lil Santa's helper's look.....the hat only stayed on for 1 mere second before flying off his head......

*Kay at the X'mas Party at my Grams place.....already unwrapping......& looking all so sweaty cause to him it seems like a task.....& the bags of opened presents we have to fit into the car boot (all his mind you) when we left

On Christmas Day morning in his PJs....
*More X'mas pressies to unwrap at home....yippeee

* & yes "Yippeee" to us parents as we have to sort & organise.....wrappers everywhere & opened boxes needing our attention.....portion of his X'mas gifts....thanks everyone...

* him playing away with his new toys......with grandpa's plumbing pipes we call them.....

& look who's joining him.....i say really hard to resist.....daddy's built him a binoculars out of the pipes.....

I love Christmas for the very reason that I have my loved ones to spend it with, and for Kay to know that this tradition of us families from all sides to get together, and how blessed he is to have everyone loves him so much. We are loved, and we are thankful for them.
Have a pleasant Monday!!!

Season of Giving...

I love Christmas, going through how i would like each gift to be wrapped, to hunting for my favourite gift wrap (i'm a hoarder for wrapping material i tell you, untill couple of weeks back, i made an effort to sort & organise & gave away one whole lot of wrappers, ribbons & nik naks to my colleague's lil girl). I go weak in my knees when i see Christmas wrappers especially those from Marks & Spencer & Ikea.

This year for my colleagues at work....i gave them a Christmas fruit cake baked by The Pathlight Bake Shop (thanks G, totally love this gift from you, and made my choice of gift to my colleagues this year) & a bag of foiled wrapper chocolates all packed nicely in a cake box, and not to forget simple scrapped tags to go along....it's a treat box i call it....

& the another Christmas gift so far given out by me is to my favourite lil guy......we didn't expect to be giving this out (mommy's gift out first), as he was just in a very very bad mood minutes before this photo....so i thought let's give you a x'mas present first. Mine to start off with......

His most favourite topic of the moment - DINOSAURS....Kay posing away with his favourite dinosaur - Stegosaraus....

& much after his "dinosaurs" are invading in my tray of x'mas treats, and making a dino mess after that....

It's another 2 more days to Christmas....i'm already in a holiday mood ...& i think so is everyone in the office.....

This was Last Christmas....

He looks so much smaller, cuter with his chubbier cheeks, so different in his character, and so much less cheekier......this was him at last Christmas....

Christmas at Home 2009

I'm reviewing how our year went for us & for him, and remembering telling myself that once 2010 hits us, it's going to be no looking back. We've survived 2 weddings, Kay's new schooling journey, 1 super duper travel to China and on top of this, coping with Kay's growing changes & challenges of raising a 3 1/2 year old.
So i'm hoping at this year's Christmas, I will be able to capture photos of him to show just how much he's grown & if I'm able to capture new moments of him celebrating this happy festive season. Who doesn't love Christmas!!!!
Have a Happy Monday!!

Thursday, December 16

We had fun....

& i know he enjoyed himself truly being there, and trying stuff for the very 1st time. From the look of the photo, you know just how happy he is. He's been on the Skyride 3 times in 2 days(he loves, 2 Luge rides (one with daddy & one with me), 1 ride on bought the new revamped cable car with us & grams, visit to the Butterfly & Insect Park, & his ever so favourite sand castle building at the Hard Rock hotel beach. We're intending to make this a yearly thingy. We needed such short getaway as a family, and Jayce needs his time with his lil guy & all the entry tickets to places he's visited at Sentosa will all go into my 2010 journal for the month of December.
I'm just happy that for the past 2 weeks, it's so precious cause i'm with him almost every minute, and you can say that coming back to work is hard today cause I've got him telling me last night that he will miss me, and again this morning looking very reluctant to let go of my hand when i have to drop him off at my mom's, and him acting up in his naughty behaviour of not wanting grandma or grandpa around him. I understand at his age, it's naturally and he will take a few days for everything to just get back to its usual.
So everything is back to the usual hectic life of work, and you can imagine the amount of paperwork surrounding me being away all these while, and at home, a list of to-dos (X'mas cards to be finished & sent out , I'm so late!!!, gift tags to scrap for my gifts for my colleagues at work(this year they're getting a Christmas Treat Box packed with Christmas Fruit Cake I ordered through G at her school + a bag filled with chocolates), a well needed sorting out of my scrap desk, & 23pcs of my Friendship swap pieces (yipeee i sort of started FINALLY!!!) & not forgetting a major X'mas party to prepare for (ok 2 X'mas party in 1 day, one at the office & 1 at my grams place....it's major eating!!!)
So from now till then I'm still trying to squeeze in time to go for a stroll down Orchard Road with all that Christmas lights going on & an evening dinner treat to Universal Studios with Kay.
Till then, it's counting down to Christmas!!!!

Thursday, December 9

It's that busy.....

Oh gosh how much i miss you all, blogging & updating myself with what's been going on....I've been juggling the role of taking care of Kaylen since late last week, making trips to the office in the morning session lagging Kay along with me (it's hard to work with him appearing at my office every few minutes), Christmas shopping (even harder when it's just me & him, and best part of it is when we reach a certain destination, before i start to shop, he would say " i want to go home"...arrrrggghhhh. That's so much to do, but just so little time....but we just had so much of "our time".

Here's my week so far....just some shots from my digi to just record my past week...

*spending time at home, goofing around, playing, and for mommy dearest it's loads of packing & sorting of both his stuff & my scrapping stuff....look how much he has grown from last year standing next to the tree....& not very happy though...

Some presents wrapped during his nap time in the afternoons....and you should see the mess after this....this time all created by me...

Kay's latest art piece.....his snowman which now sits proudly on the wall.....

Getting ready to start my next Friendship swap pieces again....just say that after cutting out 96 puny pieces of the word "birthday" i'm now nursing a sore, very sore neck but enjoying every minute of the creation process....

& the only LO which i've created in the past week...

Title: A Part of Us
I love how my very 1st artwork piece done
with Kay is part of my LO
I've to sign off now....hope to be back soon....next on our holiday activity list next week- Resort World, here we come!!
