What will i be without them.....

Family and Friends are my world, and without them, i believe i'm not who i am today.

Family's been my foundation of my beliefs of the sort of person i've been brought up to be, been loved my whole life, and truly a very blessed life to still have my grams with me, seeing her everyday for dinner, having my aunts & uncles as company through on the weekends, and i can't ask for anything more that Kaylen now has this chance to grow up with them around him.

Friends who has been there for every different part of my life matters lots cause each one of them had been at a certain stage, and they've seen me for who i am, and i can't be thankful enough that my life journey had them in it. To my bestest friend Wen who has been there since Secondary school days - Wendy, who in school we will be everywhere together, buying almost similar stuff, finding boys cute during those days, and hanging out after school at "Do Re Mi" for lunch (i still remember the mushroom chicken noodle) at Yaohan or Paradiz Centre for beef noodles. She's been there my whole teenage life and we even had the chance to travel 2 weeks to UK, Paris. I miss those times cause that's when we had more time to do stuff together. We've also studied in Perth for a period of time where we went truly "New Age" whenever we meet cause we're just studying at 2 different Unis.

If anyone is to know us now, we're both actually extreme opposite of each other, in character, shopping for clothes, colour choices, everything except for scrapbooking. She's alot more sociable then i am, less shy, super friendly, fun loving, and even though through the last 10 years we don't get the chance to meet up constantly enough, or talk through the phone or constant sms, we're still the sort that would just pick off from where we left. Our friendship is not your usual "meet you every weekend sort" cause she's busy with her life, and with Kay now, i'm finding time so precious, and each time when we meet be it shopping, or having lunch, it's really solid time spent with her and now both of us scrap, so i'm just glad that she's liking this hobby too.

She's just dropped off these lovely handmade, one of the kind birthday gifts for me, and boy am i spoilt...just look at how pretty they are, and they are like what i call them a family of frames. Nothing beats receiving these precious gifts from the heart. Hugs Wen, i love them, and you've got me wanting to try out making shadow boxes (don't know why, but i never thought of creating one which has 3D stuff in them)

A while back, my pal J also made me this glam name card holder with all the BLING BLING, and it's personalised too. We've our own story too which was another chapter for me. She's not only became a close friend of mine, but also a point my work colleague. Check it out, and it comes with a handmade card too, and if you can tell, she's also recently picked up scrapbooking (thanks to me, hehehe). Then with her, I have KY who's also a dear pal of mine whom use to be my work colleague too, and now she's a happy stay at home mom to an almost 2 year old (Valerie exactly 4 months younger than Kaylen), and we both too have our own friendship story.
Friendship never ends, and i too made good friends during my Uni days in Perth, Y who's now in Kota Kinabalu, and Y who's getting married next month, and my housemate C. For these friends, we have our happy times. I sometimes stop and think about my friends, might not get the chance to see them all the time, but i would drop them smses once in a while to just say hello, and that's how i let my friends know that i care. To me, it's not so much the physical of meeting up, but very much they know if they need help, I'm always going to be just there for them. There is Pam whom i see about twice a year (if i'm lucky hahaha...she would know why), and each time when we meet, it has to be either eating Ma La steamboat here or there... or steamboat somewhere else...we would just eat eat & eat more....This is our story of our friendship, and our babies are only born 3 days apart of each other.

I make new friends on my way through life, and with scrapbooking, i'm so loving that i find new friends, and my old pals are also roped into this crazy hobby of mine, so you can just imagine my happiness. More chat topic....

This little gift was made for G to cheer her up, made with AC's Blue Skies papers (i call them my happy papers), and there are made of little tags, and done up as a written note to her. + prepared her a "de-stress package". Meeting her & Pooi (yes yes, i'm finally meeting her, so excited!!), Love how i'm end my work week!

Enjoy your evening!

Just so so...

i'm feeling just so so today...Kay's not feeling very well since yesterday morning, started with a grumpy & crying nights since Monday, a slight fever last evening which went away early this morning, a semi blocked nose, and now a nasal sort of voice....we're keeping watch that it does not develop into anything nasty. Taking this week slower than usual, maybe no play group sessions at GUG this weekend to let him rest more.

My scrapping would slow down slightly although i've picked out the AC papers for my next LO, but decided to start on something little for a friend of mine who's not exactly very happy these days. G, if you're reading this, i've made something for you to cheer you up, and i called it "dear G". Hope it will make her feel better.

Will be back soon, and hoping that tonight, Kay would be able to sleep better.

Watching.....

Love just watching him do whatever he is doing, and wherever he is that he would be just himself. A 2+ year old, most likely clueless about what our world is about, but learning quick to how we do stuff around. The emotions of a 2 year old is obvious, all written on his face, no intention of hiding the feelings, he just lets you have them, all at one time. This is the age of innocence, and i hold on to these moments now.

This is Kay at Raffles City Shopping Centre a few weeks ago, and just something as simple as a water fountain amuses him, entertains him, keeps him still for more than 20 mins and going, and when we had to leave, this was the face.....teary eyed him....breaks my heart, and we stayed for awhile more longer before being treated to screams admist the very noisy mall.....

Watching very still.....

Completed a happy happy LO last night, playing with latest papers from American Craft ( i have the mind to get more the next time i'm there for my Maya T-Shirt Album...a hoarder indeed i am), and this will not be the last, i still love this line of papers from AC, so be expecting more of AC LO's comin your way for sure.

Title: Smile

Materials: papers, badges, rub ons, stickers, felt (all from American Craft)

Hambly's overlays are from Geraldine (i love the fact that we are swooping supplies from our stash)
dew drops (robin's nest, jenni bowlin tag)

It's been a busy Tuesday, but a beautiful one for me. Have your great Tuesday!

My days....

Never would one day go by without me not smiling or laughing my head off, or have giggles cause with him around, i'm never ever dull or bored. Yes it's energy draining with this lil guy, but who cares cause i would have my next 30 years to take time to slow down when he is older. Now i'm certainly not stopping cause he is not, so i'm going with the flow. Days are almost flying by so quickly, so i must remember & have these good times journalled down. I simply love being a mommy.

So when i create this LO for Made with Love with Prima Marketing latest products, i had to use a photo of kaylen & myself, and we happen to have this funny shot taken in August. Just plain us goofing around. I love how the colours of the Prima papers & flowers blended so well, and with the type of patterned paper with quite alot of designs going on, i decided not to have my usual clean cut style. Went for the messy ruffled look with the edges distressed. I love the effect once i was done with it....I'm also beginning to fall in love with the effect of Glimmer mist which used to be a medium i stayed away.

Title: Never a dull moment
Materials Used:
PP, blooms, leaves, pearl embellishment - Prima Marketing
(All available from Made with Love)

Next on my scrap desk which i started out really early this morning at 2plus (i fell asleep at 9plus with Kay, and when i woke up at 2 plus, just couldn't get back to sleep, so i scrap a little) a LO with the latest AC products. Be expecting a cutesy piece from me soon next week....

I'm going to be getting some scrap theraphy an hour from now.

Cherios!

Today

I've received my very 1st birthday gift & treats from Geraldine, and this has to be the 1st to go on my post....lovely yummy cupcakes, decorated, and she's even had one for Jayce & Kaylen. Muacks gal, thanks for the thought.

Took a photo of it as they sit pretty admisdt my very messy work desk...see those emails....

I had a great time bonding with this fine young lady over lunch, and what's best is that we're like companions for scrap. It's never ending chatting about everything about scrapbooking, life, work, and all stuff girly, and i'm constant in awe of the way she scraps, check her work out, totally taken over by her style. Although we started the day we were DT's at MWL, it felt like i've known her for more than just a mere number of months. Her smile is definitely her signature, and has been enjoyable each time we meet.

Here's Geraldine with her tom yum tang hoon soup with fish....i had the thai beef noodle soup.

This is us before leaving Thai Express....and i'm so going to scrap this photo to mark our new found friendship....

She's made me this lovely gift, and when i unwrapped it, it was just pure sweetness. Just look at her parcel package style of packing....just as if i've received it through the mail.

Ain't this gift the sweetest?? Now it's sitting at my work desk, and she's made me a shadow box of my scrap room...ohhhh i'm so loving the gold coloured emboss frame... thanks thanks Geraldine, i simply love it, and it gives me a break from my work whenever i look at it...

Created through last night for this week's new arrivals at MWL, you should just see the stuff they've gotten in this week......loads of Prima Marketing which i've gotten my hands to work through...catch the review early next week, here's a peek.

Weekend's round the corner, what's your plan this weekend? I'll be spending some quality time with Kay at GUG tomorrow morning, back to office for some unfinished work, then a trip down to MWL in the late afternoon. And on Sunday, just pure family time.
Enjoy!!

Him

* very determined in the things you do, and at times it does give me a headache in having to handle these situations of your insistance.

* have quirks in how you get things done, and it would somehow seem that you are very proper

* have your super sweet side where i'll be wondering sometimes that you have 2 spilt personalities

* melts my heart

* super loving everything that has wheels

At 27 months, i'm loving this stage of him given that i have my hair pulling days. I guess as much that he is just growing up....this is Kaylen just this morning, drawing away by the window spot, and just has to stop awhile to disturb the frames displaying on the tv console.

On my scrapping front, i've finally found time to snap photos of what i've done over last weekend for my 6th year wedding anniversary, and made this simple album of kraft coloured corrugated, and use of Jenni Bowlin latest series & the wonderful stash of stuff I've swapped with Geraldine, and came so in time for this album which was for Jayce. Thanks a million gal for this, muacks!!!

Here it is....just pure simple & loads of sweetness to it...

And a super fun piece using latest Sassafrass Lass - Monstrosity series of papers which i simply can't resist..
Materials used:-
PP - sassfrass lass
rub on - hambly's, cosmo cricket, october afternoon
letter - sassfrass lass, american craft
stickers - 7 gypsies
bling - prima

I'm getting scrappy tonight for sure with my hands on my DT kit for Made with Love. Come back soon for the sneaks....
Have a beautiful Thursday !!!

I love September!!

September is so my month, because:-

* it's my birthday, and i'm turning 34 when i'm done with it
* kaylen's finally going to get his 2nd ever haircut by a professional barber
* I'm taking up my 1st ever commissioned piece of work for my pal in Kota Kinabalu which is scheduled to be despatched before the end of the month
* we're going to taking our 2nd ever official Tan family photo shoot (because of my lil brother's graduation), and wondering how we are going to have Kaylen go through it (and Kim was just suggesting that i have snacks to help go through this part)

I'm hoping that in September i would also be able to get more outdoor shoots with Kaylen (cause with the pending haze, i don't really want him outside too much), to complete my Maya Rd T-shirt album, and what's completed is my mini album made with kraft corrugated board covers and complemented with latest Jenni Bowlin papers and done with my wedding photos cause i just celebrated over last weekend our 6th year wedding anniversary. It's a gift for Jayce, and hope to have the photos posted within this week. Still coming is my LO with latest Sassafrass Lass Monstrosity papers....

I'm scrapping with the flow of how things are around at home, Kaylen's growing up into another phase of his life, and now handling him comes with a bit of difficulty cause he is more aware of his wants, and whines has given way to loud crying & screams which goes on for like a few seconds if he doesn't get what he wants, and than he stops and forgets what has happened earlier on. Anything small can spark off such horrid behaviour, and our solution - to just walk away and ignore him. He does this everyday at different parts of the day, and just this 1st morning of September i was treated with him pulling at the gate, screaming and crying to be let out of the house when we precisely asked for him to just wait for awhile more. How much more of this, i'm not very sure since he's been like this for already 3 weeks in August. There are stuff that we control him from having too much of - and at this moment it's too much watching of his favourite cartoon - Mickey Mouse. Tactic is to just divert his attention to something else whenever he mentions "mickey mouse". At 27 months, he's one lil guy now capable of expressing his happiness, sadness & anger in little words here & there with actions, and i'm able to understand him more through his short words too. I'm slowly beginning to understand why he feels this or that way, and i love to observe him.

How has your day been so far? To be honest, i'm one person who likes super grey cloudy days, and i love the rain!
