I'm thankful

  • For all your kind concerns and wishes for Kay (really appreciate it gals)
  • that last night he manage to sleep soundly through (i was up till 3am this morning scrapping and using the time to check on him on and off, and no signs of fever or anything bad)
  • that this morning he is feeling much better already, no more signs of diarrhoea, and poop is without any signs of blood

I'm just glad that everything seems to be okay at this point of time...

What i dreaded most....

The one thing i hate most to hear, and whenever i see a phone call from my mom, it's always not very good news. She called to tell me that Kay's down with diarrhoea. We noted this morning that his poop was unusually weird, and gotten my mom to keep an eye out. Pooped again before i left for work after leaving my mom's, and another couple more times, and this time blood in his poop. Older folks say this is being too heaty, and bad weather lately.

Took hours off to bring him to his doctor, and it was infection, and was given medication & a change for the time being to soya based milk till he recovers. Monitoring him closely to make sure nothing else adds up to the diarrhoea, and so far it has stopped for the time being.

Oh well, i'm going to be more experienced each time with little such situations as this is the 1st time he had diarrhoea, and i do hope he will feel better tomorrow. He is just a little less active today.

Have a good Monday evening.

Kay & Val....

In the world of their own...pretty much this way when we arrived till we left. + 1 squabble between them over "Kungfu panda" mobile car...Both the darlings spent the 1hour+ pratically doing their own stuff, and taking photos of these 2 are tough. Both of them are of the same age (Val's 4 months younger than Kay), and she's a sweetie whom i also tell my pal KY that she's the splitting image of her dad. I'm hoping to have Kay mix around more cause even at his playgroup in the past, he's always doing stuff by himself. My guess is that it's not yet gotten into his mind that he can actually be playing with friends, it's not always only mummy & daddy, but there are people like friends whom he can play with, and it's loads of fun with friends. I have my worries as usual as to why he isn't mixing around, and me coming up with theories that worries me more that maybe it's just not that he hasn't figured it out yet, maybe it's something else. I'm not going to go there cause it would just make me worry sick, and maybe it's not (i tend to think too much). My brother told me once when we were watching Kay play at playgroup that Kay is different. The rest of the boys at school are not like him. At home, he doesn't play much with his cars or trucks or engines, but with home stuff. He's so into frying pans, buckets, mops....

Here are the photos from his Sat playtime with Val...
& when he saw that Val had the identical mobile car, he hopped
onto it, and from then it was his...
Val's just looking as to why her mobile car was stolen by this dude...
& see how Kay is concentrating on riding skills...
He is still at it, and Val's still waiting for her turn..

Here's where it all started....the squabble
end result, Val got her car back, and Kay threw his tantrums by
laying on the floor & whine...oh bother!!

Kay's at it again when Val's not looking, and just see how
sweet & innocent Val's look was...she must have
hated him...worst play friend ever...

For just this sweet moment, both of them are together
and playing properly....i love this picture of them, and
will have this scrapped soon.

Was a great Saturday morning outing for Kay, to have time to play with friends of his age & for me, it's good to catch up again with KY (we were exchanging conversations on scrapping, and she's slightly hooked on it, and starting to make her own cards, way to go gal!!), and i'm looking forward to having Kay spent more of such times with his other friends too. Up to date, Kay's got the following friends:-
  • valerie (that's Val you see above, and of the same age)
  • phoebe (of the same age as well)
  • evelyn (she's from our next door, and she's also of the same age)
  • & older friends - Calista (who's 6), & Ryan (who's 5) - Kay loves Ryan better, & recently baby chloe (she's just turn 3 months)

Most of friend's have girls, so that's why Kaylen prefers playing with Ryan better, and it's been 7 months since he last saw him , so i told J that i will have Kaylen to her place very soon.

Rest of Saturday was good. Why?? because i went scrapbook shopping with Jianxi & she's addicted to it too. My brother probably hates me now that Jianxi has boxes of scrap supplies.....she use to store them in the plastic bags, but now they have grown into small boxes... not good right???

Sunday was equally good, Jianxi was over my place for scrapping when Kay's taking his nap, so for a solid good 2 hours i had time to organise & sit to scrap in peace in the afternoon. Brother was actually studying away for his upcoming exams (his final semester).

So here's my latest piece (still can't get enough of MM papers - "just chillin", and had a small mix of latest Hambly's collection - onesies..)

Weekend's here again....

Loving it that Easter's round the corner, and that it's time for those lovely chocolate eggs gets given to lil ones during this time. Candy coloured rabbits & chicks, and all associating with SPRING, i wished so much that sometimes such lovely festivals gets celebrated more in our country. I use to pack lil chocolate eggs & candies to my colleagues little girls & my cousins when they are lots younger, but now with the kids in their teens, it's not so much chocolate egg treats, and Kaylen is still too young for such stuff. I'm going "eggless" this year i guess.

Looking at this picture, i'm inspired to work on a layout
base on these rainbow colours....
Have you all planned what you will do for the next weekend (i know, not over with this weekend yet and is already at next week's). It's because my this weekend is already planned, and with me only working a 3 day work week for the next week, i'm just thinking about how I'm going to spend my time.

Have fun this weekend!!

Baby, you Rock!!

Definitely you Kaylen!! In everything you do, you do it with so much enthusiasm and we could see how involved you are in even the littlest everyday activities. This page is for you Kay, and with the latest Making Memories series "Just Chillin Boy", i just saw it and knew it was definitely a must by, and so suited for my little guy. Will continue to create with more of this series of paper, and if i happen to have the chance to go scrapbook shopping again, certainly a series which i would love to get more of its paper & embellishments.

And finally i've got the chance to use my Singer on the layout as well as i sewed an intended uneven border around the photo, and i just love how easy it is to use for someone as silly as me when it comes to equiments. If you are with me last night, you would have known of how silly i can be. There I was struggling to get the sewing machine to work, after threading & going through the manual a dozen times, i still can't get the needle to work. Of course being a panick one, there i was rambling on and on that hey the machine is not working & only for jayce to come over and say, "of course it's not working, you have the needle locked when you were winding the bobbins". Duuhhh. I almost wanted to jump out of the window, and kill myself for being so darn silly....

I'm just glad that I have Jayce always when we buy equipments of any sort cause he is the technical guy in the house, and picks up almost immediately on the usage. I'm the one who needs a dummy guide book to everything.

I'm enjoying the Singer, and come this weekend I'm borrowing my brother's Canon 40D camera to take shots of Kaylen, and something i told myself that i wanted to do for a very long time - to take good & decent photos of Kaylen, and that's using a much better camera, and learning some skills from my brother when it comes to photo taking...

Have a beautiful Thursday!

It just got better...

This package just came for me in the office this afternoon amidst my busy schedule today. It's patterened paper & die cut from Lily Bee Designs. Yummmmmy!!! Good to just take a break from all the work, open the package and smile...

Hello April

Good to know that It's another brand new month, and i was greeted this 1st April morning with this sight...

1st photo of the month - Kaylen picking at his nose (what a sight to be giving me, but this is just what he felt like doing at that very moment).....lovely!!!

Then followed by finally a smile after so many shots this morning, and one which both of us seem comfortable with. Kay in his tiny favourite place by the window (it's only 7plus, and the heat is already too much for me to handle) with his truck...
From then on, it's on to moments of Kaylen terror (i would call this stage, while grandpa says this is a phase of Kaylen, and it's a stage he is going through). You can see how engross he is with his truck, and this spells for us parents trying to leave the house (it was just impossible trying to pry him away from his toy of the moment). He wanted to have the truck wherever he was going to be at, and he was actually wheeling his truck out of our house, towards the lift area, into the lift (you get it, all the way to the carpark)...There are of course areas where we have to pick up this angry looking & struggling little guy, whose face is filled with tears being just a small distance apart from his truck, and to both me & jayce, we are just saying to each other "Is this you???".

Entire ride from our home to grandma's was just a nightmare, more cries & whines, my iphone was jammed as a result of Kay pressing the buttons non stop, my head was just going to burst. We happen to also call Kaylen now " Mr Whiney". I've been reading up about such toddler behaviour, and yes you have the "terrible 2" theory's that comes in, but to me like what grandpa says, Kaylen's just going through a phase. A phase that he doesn't understand what and how big emotions are at this moment. He feels uncomfortable & angry when he sees things that doesn't seem right (he got upset when he watched the initial scenes of Madagascar 2, when baby alex gets taken away from his daddy by poachers, he was totally uncool about it, and he cried). He definitely felt it, but just expressing it with tears & facial expressions cause he can't tell us how he feels or what's bothering him. We use loads of distractions now at this age, and everyday i see him explore and discover himself as an individual, i just smile to see how much he has grown up to be. He loves being independent, he doesn't want us to hold his hands.

As part and parcel of motherhood, i'm adjusting to his changes, to his growing up days, i try to understand what makes him feel or behave the way he does, what his likes & dislikes are, and sometimes it can get quite puzzling for me cause he is still not speaking yet, so i'm having to guess at times.

From April, I'll get to spend weekends differently cause it's no more playgroups for the moment on Saturday mornings, just simply me and him going more of the outdoors.

Leaving you with more of the happier side of Kaylen this morning...before all the tears...

Enjoy the 1st day of April....and thanks for leaving me with such precious comments gals!! Hope to return soon with my scrap pieces.
