P.L.A.Y

A rather important part & word in the well being of any growing up toddler. Our good O' saturday started early with Kay making his way downstairs to the playground (we've for the last couple of weeks been visiting the playground at least once a week).

Kaylen well ahead of daddy

Kaylen has to take a brief ride on this "thingy" (and yes he knows how to go about shaking this thingy front & back)

And nothing beats coming the slide a couple of times

With both of us off today from work, we're off to loads of bonding time as a pac of 3 and spending quality time with Kay. Enjoy your saturday!!!

Ain't they pretty?

To me the latest series from Making Memories - Paperie (Mocha/Rouge/Poolside/Greenhouse) is just simply deliciously sweet. Here's some of the goody stuff which i managed to get my hands on.

For housing matters, the window grilles are up and their okay. Our view now looks "lined" from our lovely full height front windows, and after staying here for close to 3 years, it's just getting used to having grilles for the very 1st time, but nothing beats Kay's safety at home. When we designed our home, it wasn't very child friendly cause everything we had from furniture design to colours of the sofa (we have a white coloured fabric sofa), we are way off about our future kids home safety. So when Kay arrived and now growing up, we had the corners covered with bumpers, now that the grilles are up although he is not yet at that height of reaching them, but still these have to be planned earlier.

As for the lil one, Kay's going for his very 1st playgroup at Tumble Tots this Saturday, hoping that this playgroup thingy for him would help with his shyness, and the chance to meet new lil friends. So till then, i will update my post again on his fun time this weekend, and also a very dued trip to getting him his very 1st swimming outfit cause we're also looking forward to bringing him to the country club for his 1st encounter with the swimming pool, hopefully next week i would be able to take a day off to spend having water fun with him. Just looking forward to all these fun stuff with my lil guy.

My scrap area is all set up again last night, so would be working on this weekend on a half completed already album for one of my dear pal - JJ on her precious ones & i have titled it "We Love You".

So have yourself a great weekend ahead!!!

I have Enough

Just about everything for the "less is more" rule for my scrapping style. This rule i adopted 1 week ago left me with 2 nice LO which i like how it turned out although i have a fellow scrapping saying that my less is still more (totally agreeable with her statement) , + 1 terribly horrendous LO which i have decided to take it apart again and re-do the whole entire LO + loads of dry spell. So I have not touched my scrap stuffs for the last 2 days as a result, and also because we are having window grills up today as part of making our home Kay safe. Jayce has been so helpful to assist me pack up my scrap stuff temporary away from my scrap area aka dinning table, and have it all protected from the dust. So i guess pretty much that i will only be scrapping only after tonight.

So my conclusion is that, i'm definitely not a scrapper whose able to churn out simple LO's cause it just gets me thinking all the time before i start on how to simplify my work, and it just cramps up my style and my mind just went blank. I call myself now an overloaded scrapper, filling up my LO each time with loads of bellies and I'm happy with this. Isn't it all part of scrap booking? To be happy with your own work cause it's for your love ones & special people you create for and what matters most for me when i scrap is that i know i'm leaving kaylen something precious for him to look back and read about how mummy feels at different points of his life, and for him to remember me by when I'm not with him. And for the friends i make scrap gifts for, it's their smile on their faces that's all good for me.

With scrapping, i found my passion in cause i have my fair share of crafting in the past (paper toles, cross stitch) and i enjoy scrapping for my friends and family and to me, it's sort of therapeutic is a way. So definietly scrapbooking is here to stay and is part of me now.

Till my next scrap work, have a happy thursday!!

Such a joy

Kay started 2 days ago to play with us. His very first peek-ka-boo came at 8plus at night while i was changing his diaper. It started with him just taking up the quilt cover next to him, putting across his face, and then peeping out behind it shortly. This got him giggling away. Jayce started with the peek-ka-boo action with hands over the eyes, Kay followed suit. And once again giggles...ohh this is just so heart warming to know that Kay understands play, and it makes him happy that we are giggling away with him. I know our journey from then on is just going to be loads and loads of fun. At 16 turning 17mths in 3 weeks time, this lil chap is just growing up. A little too quickly i think. I must have lamented at this so many times in my postings that how i wish time will take a slower step each time cause memories of kay's birth is still so fresh. Just a few days ago, befor my bedtime, we are just going through again kay's childbirth moments, and all these memories just puts a smile to my face. He is such a dear to have and we are blessed to have him.

So with my latest Label Tulip Sept kit (oh i really love last months kit, even ordered their 2 add on's cause they are just too pretty to resist), i did a simple LO on Kay's "Grow, slow down a little".

This litttle one has his naughty times. He just started on sunday after a nap to make clenching of both his fist and squeezing his facial expressions in one like he is angry, and he just keeps doing it over and over again. And he finds this funny. I don't think it's very goods for a soon to be 17 mth old guy to be doing this so we are totally ignoring him when he does it so that it would get it that it's not very nice. So now, it has stopped for the time being, so we'll see. Oh, looks like we will be expecting more of Kaylen and his lil expressions soon to come as he grow.

To my lil baby, grow up at your pace, and when you are ready for the world, i know you will truly enjoy the experience. I love you Kay!!

His First

My dear hubby's first LO is done and completed at 3am this morning and he is certainly very pleased and happy with how it turned out. It's actually featuring his passion for fishes from young till now and because of us, he doesn't have this hobby already (yes, yes, it's me whom is not into his fish hobby, that is why you see both me & Kay's pics in his LO as well). He even handstitched certain parts of the LO. I'm just glad that during the process of scrapping, he enjoyed himself. It's not very much the content, but seeing him night after night fiddling with it till he completes it, i know he takes pride in what he does and i enjoy seeing him.

I asked him this morning when will be work on his 2nd LO, and answer i got was " i don't know". So i guess he will mostly likely scrap whenever he feels like he is in the mood. We'll see. So here is jayce's very first LO.

After work today, i will be heading to my fave scrap place - MWL to view the friday's launch of their Trendy Thursday (and whatever is left of their yummlicious stasth of pretty things. Wish me luck. Whatever it is, as long as i'm in this place, i'm just totally happy.

Have a great weekend ahead guys!

Less is More

I'm trying the rule of "Less is More" when it comes to scrapping at the moment. I told myself that i should try this out for 1 week, and see how my LO would end up looking cause i realise my style of scrapping has always been loads of stuff added and just love layering. Didn't happen to know my style until when i start flipping back to see my earlier LO's and hey, I am an "overloaded" most of the times. So take a look at my LO with this "Less is More" rule, and see how it turned out (still thought that i'm still not there yet). This LO is for a challenge at Label Tulip with the use of word "Celebrate". And what more worth to celebrate that my lil one's 1st birthday which was in May.

Journalling Reads:-
Today was your birthday and
you knew that there was something going
on at home with everyone buzzling around.
You refused to take your naps
and only wanted to be part of the fun.
Happy 1st Birthday Kay!!
xoxoxo
mummy

And leaving you with - Look what i got myself from Ikea yesterday...hmmmmm SWEET (i got my fair share of "you have already gotten 30 odd pillows in the house" speech from jayce). I was just rolling my eyes.

Have a good work day today!!

What a Day!

Had a great public holiday although at the end of the day, i was totally poofed and drained out, but certainly a fun filled day. Can't be happier that on the eve of Hari Raya day, i had jayce joining me in scrapbooking. You heard me right! He took up my scrapbooking offer, and we scrapped till 2.30am. Can you believe this. He was so "into" scrapping that you should see him on Hari Raya day itself. Ever free minute he has, he would be hovering around my scrap table (aka dining table), and work on his LO, although till today he has yet to complete cause he is taking his time. He is literally working with my scrap papers which i have tons of and finding how to blend it all together. But most importantly, he enjoyed it for once (i'm just happy that i have him sitting next to me scrapping). See for yourself!

We had a blasting time at the Bottle Tree Village for dinner although it was very draining of my energy cause Kay wants to walking by himself in the super crowded place where danger of people spiling hot food on him. He had fun at the playground which now he is slowly discovering this fun place called "the playground". So i'm leaving you of photos. Glad we had some photos taken as a family cause its so difficult to have kay take proper photos now a days. He is never going to keep still so we make do with whatever quick poses and just smile for the camera hoping that some photos would turn out decent.

Looking forward to having the weekend come by again, it would only mean more time for scrapping again which for this whole week, only started parts of the mini album project, and hope to squeeze in another 2 LO (1 for an upcoming challenge) if possible. We'll see!!
