What a Day!

Had a great public holiday although at the end of the day, i was totally poofed and drained out, but certainly a fun filled day. Can't be happier that on the eve of Hari Raya day, i had jayce joining me in scrapbooking. You heard me right! He took up my scrapbooking offer, and we scrapped till 2.30am. Can you believe this. He was so "into" scrapping that you should see him on Hari Raya day itself. Ever free minute he has, he would be hovering around my scrap table (aka dining table), and work on his LO, although till today he has yet to complete cause he is taking his time. He is literally working with my scrap papers which i have tons of and finding how to blend it all together. But most importantly, he enjoyed it for once (i'm just happy that i have him sitting next to me scrapping). See for yourself!

We had a blasting time at the Bottle Tree Village for dinner although it was very draining of my energy cause Kay wants to walking by himself in the super crowded place where danger of people spiling hot food on him. He had fun at the playground which now he is slowly discovering this fun place called "the playground". So i'm leaving you of photos. Glad we had some photos taken as a family cause its so difficult to have kay take proper photos now a days. He is never going to keep still so we make do with whatever quick poses and just smile for the camera hoping that some photos would turn out decent.

Looking forward to having the weekend come by again, it would only mean more time for scrapping again which for this whole week, only started parts of the mini album project, and hope to squeeze in another 2 LO (1 for an upcoming challenge) if possible. We'll see!!

It's good to be back

Had a good last week, taking a half day leave since Friday and spending good time with my best pal Wen, walking and shopping around leisurely although i wished it was for a much longer time. She's one whom i love going out with and spending time cause it's been ages since we last got such time to do girly stuff like talk & shop. It felt as if we are back to good old school days where after class we would hang out for lunch before heading home. For once, those few hours with her was like i felt so carefree, i don't have to worry about kaylen cause i know he in good hands with my mom. It's been ages since i really spend time with myself or with my pals. Oh, i look forward to more of these times with Wen cause we've been friends since we were in Sec 1 (although all along she has been in my primary classes, but we just never got to being friends yet till later). So that's a good20 years of friendship and i'm glad that she is doing all well (did i ever tell you that we also had some good aussie uni days in perth although not in the same uni, but we catch up on the weekends and crashing at Fremantle market, oh how i miss those times) and although we don't see each other much due to our schedules, we are still as close sharing everything under the sun. She is certainly 1 cool gal i love hanging out with, and as we go into life all grown up, she'll always be my good old wendy whose never changed 1 bit since the day i knew her. 3 words to describe her - loyal, true & warm. I'm blessed to have a pal like her and i'm looking forward to many more years of friendship and who knows that my blog might age with me, and you will still find me posting of our shopping trips when we are old grannies to be.

Talking about granny, finally managed to get myself a granny like sweater and it's my pal Wen that says "Hey, that deep purple one looks nice" (we were at MNG), so i got it + a bootcut jeans and i do wish those heavy rainy days are going to be back so that i will get a chance to wear it.

Last week was indeed a shopping week, cause i went on to Saturday , spending time with just jayce in town again for his dental visit, and ended up with a pair of Aldo shoes, & another stash from Mango, and loads of nick naks from Daiso + how can i not visit my fave place in Plaza Sing - MWL. Then came Sunday where i actually sat myself down to start a new LO for my precious one - titled "there is just no stopping U". The LO has pics of Kay everywhere, touching everything at home, and apparently having the time of his life.

Journalling Reads:-
It's been always like this at home.
You have your everyday "play" areas
and there is no way we can ever stop you.
You will always go back doing the same things
and it looks fun.

Sunday for us ended on a good note cause Kay had a great time at the playground in the evening time with myself & Jayce, and next time i will post some photos of him running all over the place.

Looking forward to starting an album for a pal of mine for her lovely 2 angels C&R, hope to have it done when she's back cause i finally picked out the colour coded PP, & bellies awaiting for me to start. And to all celebrating Hari Raya tomorrow - have a great day and to all other's like us, it's going to be a good rest day!

Happy Friday

As weekend is approaching, I'm too feeling loads happier that i would have more time to scrap over the weekend. Didn't do as much as i would love to over the week cause i was already feeling so beat up on monday & tuesday that i went to bed the same time as Kaylen. So, i manage to complete the LO for a challenge hosted by Made with Love and here is my submission titled : " A boy on just a Sunday". Love the moment of Kaylen on this rainy sunday afternoon, that for once he decided not to do anything, but lay down and SMILE for the camera. I'm totally loving this shot of him and would be scrapping more of the series of photos.

Journalling Reads:-
It was raining on this sunday
and you just wanted to laze and
do nothing but smile for the camera.
I just love this moment.
xoxoxo
Love the latest series of PP from Luxe which i hardly buy PP from this brand and finally i get a chance to use a little of epoxy stickers from SEI which i have loads of and somehow, i hardly ever use epoxy stickers in any of my LO and i was just wondering why i don't use them since they are all so pretty.

I'm actually on half a day at work today cause i'm going to have the next half catching up with my close pal - wendy as it's been since we last have a really good chat. It's going to be lunch and some shopping done for both of us today.

Before i zip off back to work, would love to thank Stacy for leaving your comments, and truly understand how it is with scrapbooking that there are so many brands out there which carry so much lovely and to die for products, that at times, you just can't put your finger to your favourite brand. Just leave me your address in my e-mail: tanyinwen@gmail.com and the RAK will be on its way to you very soon.

Have a good weekend ahead!!

I'm reading this at the moment

I love Ali Edwards!! From her style of scrapbooking layouts which for all who know her is clean & simple, and yet very captivating to her mini books which she has created so many of and her approach towards recording the meaningful events in her life. I love her latest book below - "Sharing your story, Recording Life's Details with Mini Books", and I was lucky to get my copy from Made with Love when they first arrived. Haven't had the time to read it as my lil one was sick, and now it's time for me to have my alone time with this book.

Also, I managed to catch her interview on podcast with Noell Hyman and it's really interesting to know Ali's thoughts and feelings when putting together this book along with the other lovely mini book contributors.

So till i complete this book, have a great work week ahead you all, and for those interested in the RAK giveaway (you can find the contents of the RAK in my earlier posts), remember to leave me the comments by end of this week.

I have 2 look-alike

At home and it's not me that I'm talking about, but it's jayce & kaylen. When i decided to have kaylen wear his new H&M black singlet this morning, there came Jayce saying, "hey i want to be the same too", so there you have it, 2 guys walking around the house in almost the same type of bottoms as well, so i have great joy in looking at the father & son duo doing almost everything together this morning. Jayce is enjoying this so much that just now he shouted out " Yin Wen, can you get me another 4 more black singlets to match"..he is really into this and more after having someone in the lift this morning when they are both out to collect mail saying that "hey , daddy & son are dressing alike". He know that this similar dressing thing always would irk me up, cause i'm just not use to dressing the same, and he would sometimes lay the clothes he would wear on the weekends when we go out next to mine (i always put out the clothes i prepare to wear), and they would be in the same colour and i would just go crazy! I'm alright seeing families going out in the same colours, or some in the same designs, but just not for me. Maybe because i have a lil guy and not a lil gal, so who knows maybe when i have a lil gal, i would be just like jayce. So meet my precious 2 inseparable look alikes.

Kay's in his very happy mood this morning and always love watching him and spending time on sundays. We are starting to call him our very own "couch potato" cause he is so into watching Bob the Builder, that he is so into the show and looking as if he understood. This is the Bob the Builder face below.

And when he is not watching TV, he would be after my wooden rubber stamp collection or either that - my sticklers.
And as i mentioned in my earlier posts, i have this delicious RAK to give out, so till now to Thursday, drop your comments to " What's your favourite brand of scrapbooking supplies & why?", and the RAK below could be yours.
We'll be heading down to Daiso at Vivocity later to search for storage for my scrap supplies & to have dinner. It's been quite some time since we had dinner out so it's going to be fun!!

So enjoy your hot sunday and thanks for coming by.

Just another day

Here's my layout titled - " I wish for you to be happy & healthy". My first time using orange or any bright colours as part of the LO , and hey it does turn out well, and i quite like it. Got to try out more of these brighter colours in the future as i find myself (even down to picking patterened papers that i go for more pinks & browns, and of course of having to do LO for my lil guy, i'm also picking out some blues & greens). Plus one of my favourite - floral prints. Yes i know it's not exactly a sort of guy LO, but i just cannot resist using floral prints for Kay's LO sometimes, cause who says that floral are just for girls. I'm sure some of you would agree on this point made.

Everyday, we will start with the fun car ride from my place to my parents to drop Kaylen off, and usually in the car, we have THE QUIZ, and it goes like " Kaylen, where is your head?" or "Where are your fingers?" so on and so forth, and whatever is the latest we are teaching this lil 16 mth old dude. Each time he does it right, he automatically would clap (it's something which both me & jayce has gotten use to clapping whenever he does right or good things), and that now Kaylen associates with getting the actions right, he would be clapping away himself. He is just quick at picking up these stuff that we are doing that, got us thinking, it's the time that our actions are being firstly understood by him, and yes he is indeed copying us as well. At this moment, he has gotten to know who he is or what his name is cause he has been getting the question" where is kaylen" (tapping his tummy is the reply), got us all cheering (this what what we have during dinner tonight was (a crowd of 3 to 4 adults clapping & cheering away as if they are watching a soccer match whenever Kaylen gets his action right each time during THE QUIZ). There i was with jayce at the dinner table, just smiling to ourselves that our parents, aunts & uncles are also clapping away. Hmmmm....So this cute lil bugger is ours...sorry for the initial blur photo (mummy is attempting the take picture while you are the traffic light stop thing).

I also got the time in the morning while dropping Kay off to have my dear mom take a photo for me in her nice green lil garden.
And finally, i just gotten Kaylen his very 1st cooking set (my brother thinks it's such a girly thing to be giving kaylen), but me simply loving that kay enjoys occasionally fiddling with the cooking set (cause before this, it was him & my mom's pots which were larger and harded for him to move around with, and not to mention the noise), so now at least it gets him off my mom's pots for awhile. He seems to enjoy it. But Jayce things that it's mummy whose loving this adorable winnie the pooh stove & cooking set (mind you the stove sizzles and pots are moving on this stove) and the stove speaks...in all these japanese works.

I'm going to be off doing an hour of so of scrapping while jayce & kaylen is already fast asleep, picking up stuff for the upcoming RAK giveaway and then bedtime cause i'm working tomorrow and i'm so looking forward to having a hair cut in the afternoon. It's just so warm for the past few days, got to really do something about my hair, it's looking so dawdy (is this even the right word). Oh well, till tomorrow, we'll see how my hair would turn out next.

It's Done

My LO and final one completing my series of 3 celebrating my recent 5th year wedding anniversary to this great guy is all done. Showed it to jayce and you know what he said " Not bad"...hmm wondered what does that mean? Anyway, i know he is still trying to adjust to me and my 1 year old hobby of scrapbooking, cause my supplies has indeed grown to regular receipt of monthly subscriped kits and always, once any parcel is to arrive at the office, he automatically becomes my delivery mail guy at the counter receiving my stuff. Jayce has become so use to this and the ever growing mountain of paper & embelishments that he has stop saying anything. But I do get "the look" occasionally. Still, I love him lots although i wish sometimes he would sit down with me to scrap. I remember the very 1st time he scrapped was December last year that he wanted to make a X'mas card, and without me knowing, he started cutting up my lovely x'mas patterened paper in all sorts of shapes (he was trying to create a X'mas tree),and there i was thinking to myself "Is this guy for real" (jayce was still cutting happily away, when i was like " Arggggg, my paper"). Then after all the cutting, he said he was tired????? Goodness grief, that was the last time i ever let him near my scrap supplies. Still till now, I'm still asking him if he wants to scrap (under watchful eyes) even though i know he would create chaos at some point of time. It's his company i enjoy. Now, whenever i scrap, he would be there accompanying me either by sitting and watching his fave TV, or just laying down to take a shut eye on the couch till i'm done. Just loving the fact that he is there with me. For someone like him who works practically every single day of the week, i know he gets so tired at the end of each day, and the fact that he is a TV addict, he is still always hearing me out when i have stuff bothering me, and to be my shoulder to lean one when i get tired. So i must really say, knowing and being with him for the past 12 years, i can never be happier with him and i know although he does not tell us as much, that he truly does everything for both me and Kaylen all the time, for us to always be happy, I cannot ask for a better suited daddy for Kaylen although i'm always at Jayce's neck to get him to spend more time with Kaylen rather then the constant TV watching.

So to my dear hubby - I love you lots and i'm still going to allow you whenever you want to scrap with me.
